Jarod, SmyLi step down from Vexed

Steve "Jarod" Cohen and Léonard "SmyLi" Michelino have announced that they have stepped down from Vexed's active lineup as a result of Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian's addition to the team.

In a joint statement, the two players explained that they were unaware of Vexed's plans and that they "cannot imagine" themselves working with a player who "has harmed the competitive integrity of CS."

Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian was added to Vexed's lineup on a trial basis earlier on Monday ahead of the start of the ESL Championnat National Summer, a €15,000 league featuring eight French teams.

SmyLi and Jarod do not wish to play alongside KQLY

On Twitter, G2 member Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro applauded the decision, writing that "it is nice to see players who respect themselves."

Both players have expressed their wish to be removed from the active lineup with immediate effect, leaving Vexed with the following three players just 48 hours before the start of the tournament:

Belgium Victor "Roombang" Henkinet
Belgium Pierre "NpK" Henkinet
France Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian (Trial)

You obviously can't prove it but you can assume that if someone buys a really expensive private cheat he won't use it for matchmaking only, that's my opinion.

He didn't use Organner. It's already confirmed by both sides that KQLY was a customer of the German coder supex0 whose CSGO cheat is notorious for being one of the best, most expensive and most used in the pro scene. Maybe you should do some research before talking about stuff you don't have a clue off.

That's not an argument. Rarely anyone uses Linux and especially none of the pros / tournaments use or allow Linux. And Linux cheats are detectable too, just not by VAC at the moment because it's shit. A fully server-sided anti-cheat could detect it easily. Just because VAC can't detect it it doesn't mean it's undetectable.

A server-sided anti-cheat doesn't "check all of your data"... Also 3rd party providers like ESEA have been doing that for years, that's why their anti-cheat is so much more effective and people even pay for it. So I guess most people don't have a problem that a lot of private Data on their PC is monitored.

Obviously, that's why I don't think is right to say he didn't cheat in any official matches either. It just doesn't make any sense to me, why would you risk your career playing on your public steam profile if its not for official matches.

How do you know? Are you a Valve employee and tracked all his gameplay? Maybe he cheated for months, years maybe only once, who knows? When cheaters are getting caught they always try to diminish what they did by saying 'no no it was a friend who had my account' or 'maybe something on my computer triggered it like a mouse driver' or 'my goldfish cheated not me'. And you just blindly believe everything he says without questioning anything? That's really dumb. But good to criticize others while you're doing exactly the same. And how is throwing a game cheating? They did it to make money and not to have a unfair advantage about someone else.

its not cheating whatsoever wtf is that kinda logic they dont steal any others opportunity OR price money by having an unfair advantage what they did was lose on purpose so all these little shits who bet on the game got scammed and thats it yea they did something stupid, but its the complete opposite of cheating

"cheat tʃiːt/ verb gerund or present participle: cheating 1. act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage." throwing is dishonest and it gains you an advantage because you make money. therefore its cheating, and people who throw are cheats

Cheating in the gaming scene usually translates to using a 3rd party software to get an unfair advantage... You can take everything out of context and be petty but that won't help the case at all. Also it's about a game advantage which throwing obviously doesn't give you because you lose, not a money advantage.

Ask 100 people who play CS:GO, I bet at least 99 will associate cheating with using software to get an unfair advantage over your enemies. That's in no way similar to throwing a game. But if you wanna stick with your meaningless definition that you somehow don't even understand, go ahead.

Vexed is a shitty org that owns money to former players like the old polish roster that even qualified for major once but did not get payed. There is another reason for those 2 players, not just KQLY - they may use him as an excuse for not playing for Vexed, hoping to get kicked out of the org and start in another place.

Think about football. The club buys a new player. They don't have to talk with the other footballers to see if they all agree. If somebody goes against that "plan" he gets kicked. Now, what the 2 Vexed players did it's stupid, but we don't care anymore, cause Vexed org will buy other 2 players better than them cause they were trash.

They did it for attention since they're T3 nobodies. They would gladly be carried by KQLY but since they're randoms they decide to make a huge deal about it.

This guy does not deserve a second chance. He ruined his own CS-carrier. Even if he wouldn't cheat again, everyone will remember him as a cheater, like he is. Get rid of this scumbag so Vexed can play the tournament. How the fuck does he even get a trial period in Vexed if 2 of them doesn't want to play with him. rofl

So? Because you're a stupid person with 0 integrity everybody should be? CS has always worked like that nobody likes to play with cheaters. Maybe they'll be replaced but they'll be replaced by even worse tier8 players. And about "think vexxed org cares"? Yes every org cares about reputation.. Sponsorship and stuff you know?

needed, good and right in this specific case. you can be brother with a past criminal easily, but not when the criminal didn't beat his criminal nature yet. it's like i was involved into taking drugs and all kind of shit earlier. from a specific Point where i decided to change my life i also had to stop meetings with old criminal drug buddies cause they didn't change shit and their wrong paths weren't part of my destiny anymore. but ofcourse you shall forgive if some truely regrets and has the will for change.

Proof that CS is not a real competition and ruled by kids who don't know anything about life. I want to see them get fired from their job the first time they make a mistake and be unemployed their whole life because no one deserves a second chance ... In every sports, in every competition, in every area of life, you get a second chance, but apparently someone who is suspected of having cheated in an official game (never proven) doesn't deserve it.

That is another problem, but I agree, the fact that we cannot know if he resumes cheating (or that any current pro is cheating at the moment) is unacceptable. Knowing that a competition involving 5 figures salaries and 7 figures prize pools is so amateurly regulated is mind boggling. It's incredible that we have no credible anti cheat and that the cases of match fixing and cheating don't even go to court at that point, I mean polie gets involved in drugstore robberies but not in esports, wtf ?

Bullshit, you're the kid who doesn't know shit about real life. In every job where you're have important responsibilities or you'll be a public figure you're asked for a criminal record extract and you won't have the job if you made any illegal actions by the past. And if you're condemned by justice because of illegal actions in your work you're also forbidden to work in this field for a very long time or permanently.

Try to get employed in any respectable organization without a clean criminal record and see what happens. Hint: They don't know anything about life aparently. He didn't make a mistake, he knowngly acted in bad faith to gain unfair advantage over his opositions. You can argue that he didn't make it on lan or wtv, but we'll never know. We do know that he got caught by fucking vac. And given how bad vac is, it's actually an acomplishment that he manage to fuck up so much.

Commendable action by these players standing up against teaming up with a cheat. KQLY should never be allowed back to the competitive scene. He's the sole reason why hltv and reddit users had become so disillusioned and paranoid dumping unfounded hackusations against almost all pro players in the scene. Get rid of this cheating scum.

Respect. When I see stories such as Ropz's one who wanted to stop the game before he was even given a chance because of insults, harassment and cheat accusations I'm convinced KQLY and the other SOAB don't deserve another chance.

I'm not sure what to think about giving the cheaters a second chance, but I do not like how they got it over iBP and other match-fixers. Sure it's bad, but not as bad. Also about ropz. He is seriously fishy. Even other pros think he's cheating. EVerytime there's a smoke, he looks at his 2nd monitor. I wouldn't be too sure about him.

He went to Face It studios, was given a brand new computer, account and set up with people watching him and he played even better than he uses to, wrecking many pros. And JWPig said that it was an obvious cheat while ropz was at Face it studios with no possible way to cheat so seriously fuck him and "pros" thinking. When it's about playing with cheaters like KQLY or flusha they'll be happy to take the cash and not notice the fishy moves but when it comes to playing against talented kids thay can't stand being beaten by newcomers.

Im not ok with simple, but it really does appear like im in the minority. Also what can you do? Valve gives 0 fucks, we are powerless... About ibp, i do want them unbanned. Mostly because its unfair. Dota 2 match fixers got a year long ban and then got unbanned. Ibp got a year long ban and then got banned forever. Also, match fixing isnt as bad as cheating, especially considering how back then there were no salaries.. They learnt their lesson.

Can somebody explain to me, how exactly a semi-pro team makes such a move, recruiting KQLY, without the knowledge of two other guys? Or did they really discuss it and decided to bring in KQLY even though two guys told they will leave if that happens?

Isn't that funny. A team known for throwing matches, and two of those players won't play for Vexed because of a player who hurt the integrity of the game. The ban is over, give him a second chance for christ sake. And quit acting like your team will do anything beyond t3.

Any evidence for them throwing? The ban is not over, VAC bans don't ever go away, and valve wont unban pros either. Their performance beyond t3 is irrelevant

S1mple's cheating wasn't proved at all. ESL admin bamned him for his own opinion. And S1mple proved how amazing he is on LAN after that. While KQLY was banned by VAC = 100% proved anti-cheat ban. Big difference...

Kinda understand the decision even tho I'm big KQLY fan and wish he could continue playing BUT Valve still won't let him play in majors/minors/any other valve sponsored events so I don't think it was very wise move by Vexed to sign him anyway. But surely there are 2 french players who are better than these 2 plebs who left-
