Virtus.pro second team invited to ESL One NY

After inviting Natus Vincere to New York, ESL have invited Virtus.pro, last year's finalists, to this year's edition of the tournament.

Virtus.pro, who have been flying under the radar in the past few months, have been the second team confirmed to ESL One New York, as the finalists of the first edition will join Natus Vincere in the big apple in September.

TaZ & co. will be present in New York once again

The tournament, which had a $250,000 prize pool last year, will celebrate its second edition this year with 8 teams fighting it out at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

With the inclusion of Virtus.pro, this is what the tournament's lineup looks like:

For tournament organizers its all about exposure and marketing revenue. If you have VP, NIP, C9 and Liquid there the event will pay for itself. Doesn't matter if they suck or not.

Starladder is the exception for this rule, cuz this is CIS tournament, you can't have a CIS based tournament without 2 best CIS teams. I would be surprised, if IEM didn't have 2 slots for australian teams, that would be immodest towards the whole Australia scene. But overall, yeah, that sucks. Some teams keep getting invited from tournament to tournament, while Gambit attends only 3 tournaments for last 3 months, and completely crushes 2 of them.
