Cloud9 to Major Qualifier over CLG

Cloud9 have made it to the PGL Major's Main Qualifier after defeating CLG 2-0 (Inferno 16-12, Cache 16-8) in the consolidation final of the Americas Minor.

The series for a spot at the PGL Major's Main Qualifier began on Inferno, where Cloud9 got off to a flying start, picking up a 6-1 lead on the offense.

CLG started clawing their way back into the half with some of their players putting up great individual plays in pivotal rounds, such as Stephen "⁠reltuC⁠" Cutler's quad-kill from pit, and another from Kenneth "⁠koosta⁠" Suen on B, which helped their team secure an 8-7 scoreline.

After reltuC got three kills in the next pistol, CLG picked up three more rounds before Cloud9 evened it out with relative ease. Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert's team continued to defend well, only conceding one more round as they headed into map two with a 16-12 victory on their pick.

Stewie2K's Cloud9 make it to the Main Qualifier

Cloud9 once again got off to a successful start on Cache, this time as CT, dropping just one round in the first 10 with Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip playing an important part due to several individual plays. However, CLG made a match of it, picking up the last five rounds, abusing the B bombsite over and over.

Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham was the man of the hour in the next pistol round, clutching a 1v4 afterplant situation from A main, putting his team at 12-6. reltuC's quick triple in checkers then allowed CLG to pick up two rounds in a row, but Cloud9 didn't leave any more room for their opponents to come back into the match, securing the last four rounds for 16-8, 2-0.

Just combine CIS and EU minors with a separate CIS online qualifier, and put all the CIS spots in EU. Boom, fair. I guarantee you 0 teams from the CIS qualifier would make it through in that scenario. Asia only deserves one spot, they literally never make it.

i wouldnt doubt CIS teams look what happened last major C9 eliminated by HR(CIS team) and NiP eliminated by VG(also a CIS team) and imo tengri is better than CLG

Hellraisers is a european team. VG had the overperformance of a lifetime and STILL didn't qualify, think about that, that's how bad the teams from the CIS minor are.

NICE , awesome tournament from Ska(for once) and Autimatic , Stewie's calling is finally the best way to play for C9 with this roster ; shroud and n0thing still quite disappointing but less than in EPL so let's hope for the main qualifier

his calling is working against lower tier teams. as soon as they play decent teams such as immortals they get completly outplayed with calling being a big part in that.
