Cloud9 win Americas Minor over Immortals

Cloud9 are the winners of the Americas Minor Championship after defeating Immortals 2-1 in the grand final.

Mirage began with a bang as Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe clutched a 1v4 situation in the pistol round to put Immortals in the lead. Cloud9 came fighting right back, however, and went on a massive run, with the Brazilians struggling to find a way through the rock-solid North Americans.

With the scoreline 2-10, Ricardo "boltz" Prass won a 1vs2 clutch with a tec9 to steal the round away from Cloud9. That round breathed some life into the game, with Immortals going on to win the next two rounds to bring the deficit to 5-10.

Cloud9 further added to their lead by taking the pistol round as Terrorists with an A push thanks to a triple kill from Jake "Stewie2K" Yip during a flank. With the economy control and the momentum in their favour, the North Americans continued amassing rounds and eventually took the map at 16-5.

Cloud9 win LAN title and break their curse vs. the Brazilians

The map that followed was Inferno, where Cloud9 got out to a 3-0 lead. Immortals then solved their defence and grabbed eight rounds in a row, but the North Americans pushed back late in the half to set the score at 9-6 in the Brazilians' favor.

After losing the following pistol round, Cloud9 rallied back on a force-buy thanks to two Scout headshots from Timothy "autimatic" Ta, but they were unable to follow it up, allowing Immortals to put together another great run that would see them lock down the map, 16-6.

It all came down to Cache, where Cloud9 got off to a flying start on the CT side, taking a commanding 8-1 lead. It was only then that Immortals' offence finally came to life, but all they managed to get before the end of the half was four more rounds.

boltz still tried to rescue Immortals, but without success

Cloud9 secured the pistol round as Terrorists and followed it up with the corresponding anti-ecos to take their lead to 13-5. In the first full gun round, the North Americans went for an audacious B push and were rewarded for it with the round win after finding two entry frags.

With the spot at the Major qualifier already secured, Immortals showed no interest in playing for overtime and went all out with force buys, but they failed to hold Cloud9 off, with the North Americans going on to win the map by a 16-5 scoreline.

Yeah I know but there's a lot to try for man. The 'title' is the main thing, for example when Renegades won the Asia minor people said it didn't matter for Tyloo because they already qualified but it means a lot more than that. It means a lot for the players and even more so for the organization to win a tournament even if it's a small one. C9 weren't fighting for money, not for a qualifier spot but instead for the 'title' if that makes sense :P Sorry if I explained it poorly

Poor immortals always choking against lower teams feel bad for them they are a much better team on LAN and would have a way higher chance of actually beating some of the EU teams whereas C9 has literally no chance and will lose in group stage like they do in 99% of the tournaments they play in.
