dignitas defeat BIG for Major qualifier spot

dignitas have booked their spot at the offline qualifier for PGL Major Krakow after defeating BIG 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs at the Europe Minor Championship.

The second match of the day at the PGL studios kicked off on Mirage, where BIG took the first pistol round flawlessly, with Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz getting three kills to his name. After getting their economy in order, dignitas started racking up rounds, eventually jumping out to a 6-3 lead.

Fatih "gob b" Dayik then picked up three kills to stop dignitas' A split, giving BIG their fourth round of the game, but the Norwegian team regained control of the match and broke the Germans' economy. With the scoreline 9-4 in dignitas' favour Kevin "keev" Bartholomäus single-handedly shut the Norwegians down with four AWP kills inside A, inspiring BIG to also get the final round of the half.

dignitas advance to the Major qualifier

BIG entered the second half with fire in their bellies, winning eight of the first ten rounds to get within touching distance of victory. Low on money and with no margin for error, dignitas won a force-buy round thanks to a trio of CZ kills from Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel and kept on pushing, taking the final two rounds of regulation.

After losing the first round of overtime, BIG picked themselves up and took three in a row to reach map point. But they were unable to go the extra mile as Ricardo "fox" Pacheco and Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann stepped up to the plate to force another round of overtime matches. In the second overtime, it was gob b who turned the hero as he clutched a 1v2 situation to keep his team in the game when dignitas were on map point. Finally, the third overtime determined a winner as the Norwegian team won four rounds without response to seal a 25-21 win and take the lead in the series.

The map that followed was Inferno, where dignitas had scraped an overtime victory in their group's decider match, against LDLC. This time around, however, fox's men gave a much better account of themselves on the CT side, giving BIG very little room to operate throughout the half.

BIG will fight for survival against EnVyUs

The first time that BIG managed to break through dignitas' defence came six rounds into the game, courtesy of a trio of kills from gob b. The Norwegian team refused to take their foot off the pedal, however, and rallied back immediately after, closing out the half with a 13-2 lead.

dignitas further added to their lead by winning the pistol round with an A execute, with fox picking up three kills. The following round also went dignitas' way, putting them on match point, and even though BIG still tried to mount a comeback, it was too little, too late, as the Norwegians ran out 16-6 victors, booking their spot at the PGL Major offline qualifier.

Because good teams from EU are already in major. In NA, their tier 1 teams are in minor but in EU, their tier 3 teams are in minor.

The T2 EU teams like Heroic,NIP can't even reach minor. That much hard the completion is in EU.The T1 teams in NA reach major qualifier easily then go out from there like the two times previously.

I actually believe dignitas has as chance against c9, and they are obviously better than clg. Immortals does not count as NA

"obviously better than clg" and you say that based on what? CLG already showed results on lans against good teams while Dignitas didn't, so you have no base to say that, CLG would stomp the current Dignitas lineup no doubt.
