stanislaw: "TyLoo's playstyle is just so insanely unique, no one can understand it"

In our next interview from the PGL Major Main Qualifier, Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz talked about Liquid's showing at ECS Season 3 Finals and shared his thoughts on their first win in Romania against TyLoo.

With a double overtime win over TYLOO on Inferno, Liquid have joined G2 and PENTA in the 1-0 pool going into the second round.

"None of us really had a clue what was going on too much in that game," says stanislaw about the TyLoo encounter

The team's in-game leader, Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, then talked to HLTV.org about his team's promising showing at ECS Season 3 Finals and naturally the back-and-forth match on Inferno.

Let's go back to ECS at first - beating fnatic and taking Astralis to a close series, were you still happy with what you showed in London?

Overall, we were disappointed, making it out of groups was our goal, but I think beating fnatic and almost beating Astralis was the bright side of it, because nobody really expected us to beat Astralis. Although we had confidence that we could do it, realistically we're still improving and we showed that we could compete with them, but we're not too disappointed that we lost.

Talking about improvement, even of of you guys admitted that your map pool was a bit shallow, do you feel more confident with your map pool after ECS, where you showed that you could play Inferno and Overpass?

I don't know who said our map pool was shallow, but it's actually pretty good, we can play six obvious maps, and I think we have developed it pretty well.

Touching on Inferno specifically, I heard that you looked very good on it in practice in North America, how do you see that map going for you considering that you had only played it a few times officially?

Inferno is kind of an okay map for us. I think maybe we're overly confident on it or something, but I think it's just one of our good maps. I don't think we've mastered it just yet, we have a long way to go.

Going into your first match here in Bucharest, was it hard to gauge such a rare match-up like TyLoo in preparation?

TyLoo only play other Chinese teams back in their region, so there's not really anything to watch. Their playstyle is just so insanely unique, no one can understand it, none of us really had a clue what was going on too much in that game. They just had really great shots and I think peacemaker prepared them pretty well.

It was a pretty back-and-forth match all the way through, and after you were at 10-10 it seemed like you stabilized but then couldn't close it out before overtime, talk to me about the adjustments that you made after that point in regulation and in overtime.

During our pauses, zews really tried to help us with what he thought they were doing, and then we kinda started understanding by the end of the game what their ideas were, and then just adapted to that.

I noticed nitr0 picked up the secondary AWP from time to time, and I know he does it every now and again, but it doesn't seem to be as common as with teams such as G2, what is your team's - and your own as an in-game leader - mindset about the double AWP setup?

I like the double AWP setup, but we have our main AWPer in jdm, so it's more about whoever kinda feels it. When I was on OpTic, I used to pick it up quite a bit and when I joined here I picked it up, but I thought nitr0 was a lot better with the second AWP than I am, so we finally decided for him to be the secondary AWPer, so every time we wanna have the double AWP setup, it's going to be him.

Looking at the rest of the teams here, is there someone from the lower tier teams, anyone outside of the top seven that are the presumed favorites, that you think could be especially dangerous?

You always gotta watch out for teams like BIG and GODSENT, we can't underestimate them, ever. But I think, just the way the scene is right now - I've said this all the time -, anyone can beat anyone. This is a Swiss system best-of-one, so it's incredibly risky, you lose both pistols like we did and it became such a close match, so we won't underestimate anyone.

What is it going to take to grab those three wins - or two more, at this point?

Pistols are important, we gotta talk about those a bit more, and just keeping our calm and playing our game. I know it's best-of-one, still, but as long as we have good teamwork and hit our shots, then we should be fine.

Not tyloo playing good but Liquid underperformed We almost see the choke happens once again and luckily DD made a stupid mistake and some godlike performance by Elige and Twist

I see the strangest twitch and flicks etc from tyloo. That and their 500 sensivity with retarded tactics always seemed fishy to me. Might just be their sensivity giving that impression though.

Mentions Tyloo being insanely unique, but then fails to properly elaborate on what led him to that conclusion... :(
