G2 move past Cloud9 in Bucharest

G2 have picked up their second victory at the PGL Major Krakow Main Qualifier after defeating Cloud9 16-11 on Cache.

Starting out as Counter-Terrorists on Cache, Cloud9 picked up the pistol round but could not follow it up as G2 managed to secure the following round with an aggressive A execution.

Despite losing the seventh and the 11th rounds, the Frenchmen did not let their momentum falter and kept winning rounds to secure a 9-3 lead. A quad-kill from Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta gave Cloud9 their fourth round of the game, with the North American team going on to win one more round before the end of the first half.

G2 just need one more victory to qualify for Krakow

A great start from G2 in the second half saw them take the first three rounds comfortably. Cloud9 responded in the first full gun round, but then G2 reached map point with a 1v2 clutch from Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub and a double from Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro in another clutch situation.

Cloud9 still tried to mount a comeback, but five rounds was all that they could muster as G2 locked down the map, 16-11, and secured their second victory at the Main Qualifier.

Almost believed there, but I think C9 can win in the 1-1 pool Unless we face Immortals, then we're fucked.

I was just thinking the same thing. Imm and maybe Liquid since the teams are familiar with each other. It could get worse if Mousesports lose today but I can't see that happening.

Just losing to one of the best teams in the world that have recently won two tournaments. G2 is clearly the best team in the Qualifiers and 90% chance that they will go 3-0. I don't see why people are acting like losing to G2 is the same as losing to PENTA or even BIG

I agree with everything you said. But even then people act like losing to a better team is the end of the world. If people actually believed that C9 couldn't lose today then they need to start actually watching games.

G2 should get it now easily, they played the two hardest opponents in the qualifier. Couldnt watch the game but seems good that apex is showing up after lacking behind the team in the past tournaments.
