Renegades go 1-2; eliminate OpTic

Despite losing the CT pistol on Mirage and going for full saves on the following two, Renegades were quick to get a couple of rounds on the board, successfully retaking both A and B to tie the score at 3-3. The North American side picked up the following round, but an anti-eco blunder cost them the possibility to take control of the map early on.

A tight post-plant situation on A went down in round 12, William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba found himself in a 1v2 but couldn't take down Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward and Noah "⁠Nifty⁠" Francis, who were both on low HP. That round swung the match in favor of Renegades, who were able to close out the half with a 9-6 lead.

Renegades were in the driving seat throughout Mirage

The second pistol round was almost a carbon copy of the first as the Terrorists overwhelmed the A site quickly and Renegades secured a great start for themselves on the Terrorist side. Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage opened the first gun round wide up with a double entry on A, getting his team to a 14-6 lead shortly after.

With the Major practically on the line, OpTic went for a double AWP setup that paid off in spades, Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik got all five kills on the B site defense with the sniper rifle, keeping his team alive.

After the Australian side got to match point, Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic's AWP 3K kept his team alive—but only shortly. At 15-10, Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković and co. took over the A site and defended the retake attempt to close out the game 16-10 in their favor.
