PGL Major Main Qualifier round 4 match-ups

After all matches of the third round at the Main Qualifier came to a close, PGL drew match-ups for round four, which will see three more teams qualify for the Major.

During day three, MOUZ and G2 became the first two teams to qualify for the Major by winning their third match in a row, while Tengri and OpTic were eliminated with 0-3 records.

Cloud9 and FlipSid3 to face off for a spot at the Major

12 teams are still in the running at the Main Qualifier, battling for the remaining six spots. In round four, six teams of the 2-1 pool will clash for three of those spots, and three more teams will have been eliminated after matches of the 1-2 pool come to a close.

Here are the match-ups of round four, which were drawn after G2 edged FlipSid3 in the final match of the day:

CIS Should not have their own minor. They could play in the EU league. If anyone should have their own minor right now. Give it to scandinavia. So many solid Swedish, Finnish and Danish teams out there. Way better than these CIS noobs.

Swiss system is still the best to get the top 8 teams here. Only flaw this current system has is it doesn't have seeded match ups (1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc for the first round), which is basically the norm for swiss tournaments in chess. :()

Nah, I don't think so. They have played really well last months, they even threw away some tournaments to focus on this Qualifier. Johnta (or how is it written) said in an interview that they changed a lot of things and it sometimes worked in practise but sometimes it backfired. Clearly the new tactics don't work at all... They should go back to the old ones.

The number one rule of throwing is you gotta be the favorite or at least 50-50. HR played really well so people would be like "hey, they're actually pretty good" and they quickly became favorites instead of underdogs. Why would they want to go to the major? They'll get rekt in group stages and sent home, this way they can at least make decent money going out.

I don't think they can earn more here than from stickers.

All this shows is you have a narrow minded view of a complex competitive af scene. Attention to detail / mindset of players along with teamwork / communication levels are both such valuable things now. More than it mattered in the past, mistakes or shortcomings matter and matches can swing depending on small things. So the bottom line in this pro scene it is sink or swim, it takes a lot to just hang around in top 20 now, this isn't 2014 anymore
