G2 beat TyLoo; NiP deny Cloud9 the comeback

G2 win their first match of the tournament against TyLoo, 16-9, on Cache, despite trailing 7-1 in the first half. On the other server, NiP won, also on Cache, after a tight match against Cloud9, which ended 16-12.

The match between TYLOO and G2 started out with the Chinese team taking the lead on Cache, as HaoWen "somebody" Xu got three glock kills in the first round to give his team the early advantage. It looked like G2 were going to get back in the game winning the first gun round, but got immediately pushed back by TYLOO, who were ripping through the French side’s defenses.

G2 were able to beat TyLoo despite an early deficit

After a 7-1 start, it looked like TYLOO were going to ruin G2 in the first half, but the French team were able to compose themselves and bring it back to only trailing by one at the half, 7-8, before switching to the terrorist side. G2 then won the second pistol round after executing and planting on A and then took the lead for the first time in the match. With the momentum on their side and TYLOO’s defense in a constant struggle, the French team took their first win of the tournament, 16-9.

The match started well for the newcomer to the team, Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, as he put four on the board in the first round with his unsilenced USP. The second round, however, went the way of the North Americans, who won the force buy with just one kill in the round as Ninjas in Pyjamas saved after an early plant. Both sides then traded rounds, not allowing each other to get away on the board or economically. Some great pistol plays by REZ with the USP and Mike "shroud" Grzesiek with the Desert Eagle once again gave their respective teams rounds, keeping it 3-3.

REZ turned some heads in his first match on LAN with NiP

After being able to win a couple consecutive rounds, with a stellar performance by REZ, gaining the economic advantage and taking the lead all the way to 8-3. Cloud9 didn’t throw the towel, though, and were able to make a decent comeback for a 6-9 partial and a chance at evening out the score with a second half pistol round, which is exactly what they did. Cloud9then won the first gun round, but after losing against a pistol buy A rush Ninjas in Pyjamas picked the reins of the match back up and took the match, 16-12, to go up 1-0 in the standings.

Y'all kids are talking shit about shroud and I am here to do something about it. Have you ever seen such a GREAT support player like SHROUD? Have you seen every single kill set up by SHROUD for his teammates? Y'all think that shroud should retire? Think twice because Cloud9 is being run singlehandedly by SHROUD. Every kill is planned meticulously by SHROUD, setting them up for his team to kill. Every single execute smoke and flash is thrown by SHROUD. Without SHROUD Cloud9 would not even be in Top 10 NA. Think twice again before talking shit about SHROUD again kids.

Isn't it odd that when Stew has a bad game he still has more kills then two of his teammates? So many people are blaming Stew (who does deserve some but not all the blame for the loss) but n0thing and Skadaddy both had bad games too. Stew is the IGL he can't be expected to get 25 kills a game. If Shroud keeps this up they stand a good chance only if Ska or n0thing stop being such potatoes.

That's why n0thing and Ska need to step up. Unfortunately, that is the real issue with this team. I believe that n0thing just doesn't have it any more a bit like Friberg. After all the events are over C9 should replace him with a young player who is hungry.

I've been a strong believer that it's time to break the only NA players rule and bring in BnTeT for two reasons. First, since he is a young, inexperienced player, bringing him into as a support player will take pressure off of him to perform right away like there is with REZ. Second, there isn't any young talent in NA so the team will only be held back by simply swapping players with other NA teams.

What's been going on with Ska with missing easy kills? Like when he was caught off guard while sitting behind Quad with the smoke blocking his view. Sure he didn't have a lot of time to react but he had enough time to pull his awp back out and fire a bullet, meaning if he hit the shot he could have saved his awp and the double awp setup could've continued. Definitely one of the game decider mistakes.
