Liquid and OpTic go 1-0 in Cologne

Liquid started the CT side strong, winning the pistol round, and followed up by winning the first gun round. In the fifth, Natus Vincere were able to get on the board, but were quickly reset and unable to make an impact on their attacks. Natus Vincere were able to win a couple more rounds, but it was Liquid who went into the half with a big lead, 11-4.

Liquid also won the second pistol round, on the attack, but were stopped on their tracks by Egor "⁠flamie⁠" Vasilyev, who got a triple the following round with the CZ-75, helping his get back in the match. The North American team asserted their superiority, though, and didn’t let Natus Vincere get a grip on the half, closing it 16-7.

OpTic, starting on the CT side, were the first to get a round on the board with Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik bagging three USP-S kills. The North American-Spanish side, which struggled massively at the Main Qualifier for the PGL Major going out 0-3, turned up in the early game against North, establishing early dominance and taking an 8-1 lead. In that ninth round, Oscar "⁠mixwell⁠" Cañellas gota three kill round with a 1vs2 after plant clutch and enough time to defuse the bomb, which sent North straight into a timeout. OpTic gave one more round up, but ran away with the half, 13-2.

The second half started out going the way of Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen & company, who were able to win the pistol round and build an economy up by winning the following seven rounds, and giving OpTic a run for their money. The North American team, though, won two rounds in a row, with tarik besting René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg in a 1vs1 after plant to secure match point. Having to force buy pistols and armor and one UMP, North were easily overrun, giving OpTic the win, 16-9.
