NiP ease past G2 in Cologne

Ninjas in Pyjamas have picked up their second victory at ESL One Cologne following a comprehensive 16-6 victory over G2 on Cache.

The final match of the day began with a successful A execution from G2 in the pistol round, with Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt getting four kills to his name. A quad kill from William "⁠draken⁠" Sundin in the first gun round set NiP up for a great run: unable to string rounds together, the French team lost control of the game, allowing the Swedes to win the final seven rounds of the half and secure a convincing 10-5 lead.

NiP piled more misery on G2 with a near-flawless pistol round in which they planted the bomb with a three-man advantage. After losing both eco rounds, G2 picked up the first full gun round of the half, but NiP rallied back after overturning a 3v5 situation.

NiP's players were all smiles after defeating an uninspired G2

The money reset left the Frenchmen in complete disarray. With the economical and psychological advantage, NiP quickly wrapped things up, clinching the match with back-to-back fast executions to which G2 could find no response.

nothing is different, they have the same IGL and the same 2 old players, even 2 new players can't change their chemistry much, and once they get predictable - they will start sucking cock, because they just fail to figure out how to change things without changing players. But there are no players left to change ;-)

They've changed though. Even Friberg though NiP won't play cache, friberg even had to say "shit" LIVE cuz he just was so suprised they picked it. Also, I have never ever seen Xizt use a stratbook, dunno if I've just been unlucky or what, but on Drakens IG story, he posted a clip of team praccing and stuff and Xizt was writing down shit in a notepad imo strat book. + They got shit loads of motivation now as they've "ruined" the core 4. Like you ruined smth legendary, you obviously will have the motivation to make the new stuff really good.

And 1 key aspect people tend to forget easily: Threat was still busy with his study. So wasn't commited with the team at all. When he was (Almost a year ago), the team performed. When he went back to his study, the team got stuck in a pattern and couldn't get out of the slump that followed. Now threat finished his study, and will work full time as an analyst and coach. Imho that will be equally as important, as swapping out 1 of the core 4. So yes, this NiP will try and get back to majors. And they have a great mix of young and old now, I believe in them.

I doubt there is any "additional" motivation from ruining the core, because their core actually contained all 5 players from 2012, once they kicked/whatever Fifflaren - they always get that "honeymoon motivation" everytime they pick some new player. I guess everybody thought they were back after they won some tournaments with pyth or after they showed some cool performances with Maikelele, but they didn't last long. xizt thought NiP were strong on cache not really long ago, I remember him saying something like "you better don't ever pick cache against us" [in NiP's teamspeak?] after NiP defeated somebody on it (I believe it was fnatic), but they lost confidence on it (as well as on pretty much all the other maps) after their failures. You should get me right - I do want them to become a T1 team, because I'm bored of SK dominance (yeah they still lose some bo1 but in the end they win the majority of tournaments and it's sad just like it was in 2012-2013 when NiP dominated), but I'm tired of disappointments, that's why I'd better don't expect much and be surprised ;-)

No. shox + ScreaM duo raped everybody in 2016, but crying baby NBK hates ScreaM and kennyS is in gay love with apEX, that's why ScreaM got left teamless in the end. And for sure ScreaM won't be invited to G2 till NBK is there, meaning there's no room for ScreaM in G2 sadly.

ScreaM is not a teamplayer and he is much worse than any of the G2 players.

NiP failed at Inferno Pantamera and Maikelele sucked in terms of fragging, and they kicked him right after. But it was rather all about his attitude, because not only NiP, but also fnatic hate Maikelele for a reason, so he was doomed. pyth wasn't shining in terms of fragging, but with him NiP won DH Malmo (defeated Astralis, Virtus.Pro and Na`Vi) and IEM Okland (defeated FaZe and SK), so they were looking strong, but they're just inconsistent as fuck.

I'm repeating it: they kicked him because something is really wrong with him. He got deceived by olofm dennis and KRiMZ back in LGB days when they agreed to leave LGB but after Maikelele and SKYTTEN left the other three stayed and invited twist and cype. Then flusha was asked if Maikelele was an option for his team, and flusha said that Maikelele wasn't a person you'd like to have in your team and that his fnatic teammates agreed with him on that. Maikelele got kicked from NiP for the lack of professionalism (c). Who knows, may be they failed at Inferno exactly because they got mad enough at him and were thinking of getting rid of him. It wasn't about the honeymoon, it was about Maikelele's personality. What's funny in this thread is how people are so fast to judge a team on a single Bo1..... NiP isn't great again yet, they have a lot to prove, and if they manage to qualify, they'll get rekt in Bo3, as i suspect they dont get a mapool beside Cache... And as i said, you have a team with talented players, against teams that don't have data to analyse their playstyle. Of course they will win at the begining.
