Renegades secure last DreamHack Malmo spot

Renegades have become the last team to secure a spot at DreamHack Masters Malmo after defeating Liquid 2-1 in the North American closed qualifier.

The North American qualifying process for DreamHack Masters Malmö came to an end on Sunday as 16 teams - half of whom invited - faced off in a single-elimination bracket for the chance to grab the last spot at at the Swedish event.

The Australian team fought their way through the 16-team single-elimination bracket , knocking out EZG, Denial and ex-paiN before reaching the final.

jks played a great final versus Liquid

Liquid started out strongly as they secured Renegades's pick, Mirage, by a 16-4 scoreline. Then, Justin "jks" Savage stepped up and inspired Renegades to turn the series around with 19-17 and 16-12 wins on Cobblestone and Train, respectively.

It's a shame that the 2nd and deciding map are summarised as "jks" stepping up. The second map was OT and the final map was decided late on. A bit lazy Sander.

It's that way due to the 16-4 stomping on map 1 then 2 close maps that Renegades won.

dont look too much at nexa's stats, i made the mistake of doing that but he has a lot of impact. not to mention the way he plays on t side, he's pretty much a support player. CT side he's a great anchor. at half time on train he had more kills than ustilo and azr, then went onto t side and barely got any kills yet they still dominated on t side.

He's also so smart in clutches. Doesnt always win them all but you can see how intelligent he is. Give it a year and he'll be such a beast.

Jks was solo b anchor? But i do agree with you Nexa is better than his stats show, He has really improved since originally joining Renegades and i think Renegades were wanting Nexa to be a work in progress thing but turn out good in the future

jks usually rotates different sites though, i guess it depends on the map too and they probably are trying different things. but i remember seeing nexa be the anchor at times and hes very good at it, always gets a kill at least before dying.

First map was basically stat padding for Liquid because there was no traction from RNG. Nexa had impact in the other two maps but not simply frag wise.

ik, its not like RNG haven't just gotten back from Europe as well though, maybe a couple days earlier. and you cant say that 3 hours sleep is the only reason why they lost because RNG have been looking pretty good lately, i mean in the major qual all of there losses went the full 30 rounds or more.
