VP advance to playoffs and see off Cloud9 in Krakow

Virtus.pro have made it to the playoffs at the PGL Major Krakow 2017 after beating Cloud9 16-10 on Train to send the North Americans packing.

Virtus.pro and Cloud9 squared off on Train to advance to the playoffs or go home. Paweł "⁠byali⁠" Bieliński & Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski started Virtus.pro's T-side campaign with a 2vs4 win in the pistol round. After losing two eco rounds, Cloud9 won the first weapon round with Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert's triple kill as they trailed 1-3.

Cloud9 then tied the game at 3-3 but Virtus.pro took back the lead on the B-site where Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski got an entry kill. Cloud9 reset the economy of the Poles by winning the following the round and went on to take the lead against a force buy (5-4). Virtus.pro ended the first half by winning four rounds in a row to have a tight lead (8-7).

pashaBiceps had a big impact with the AWP

The Polish squad were able to retake the B-site in the second half pistol round to extend their lead to 9-7. Cloud9 ecoed once and lost the round but their early buy in the third round was successful as Mike "⁠shroud⁠" Grzesiek clutched a 1vs2 (10-8).

Virtus.pro responded with a 2vs3 retake on the B-site, making it 11-8. Virtus.pro stood strong on the CT-side and won the match 16-10 to advance to the playoffs. Cloud9 have been eliminated.

First people complain that teams like PENTA and Vega get through the qualifier and now people complain that C9 got through the qualifier and ALMOST made it to the playoff. But if most people didn't want PENTA and Vega in because they are, as some people refer to them, "Tier 3" teams then who would you rather have over them. EnVyUs or SpaceSoliders or NiP or Heroic to name a few.

I'm so glad VP has made it to the playoffs, and although they're unlikely to go further than 1/4, it's still nice to see, I love this team. As for Cloud9, they must be "happy" for Immortals that got a much easier opponent xD May be they should make a n additional group stage for just 6 teams that went 2-2 and let them play each other in bo1s, or Idk, but you know something is wrong when G2 and Cloud9 are out while Immortals are not, you know ;-)

There is nothing wrong. Those 2 teams just played like shit. Just look at big, they had very tough opponents but they still went 3-0.

1. Struggling FaZe and choking Cloud9 are not tougher than Gambit and fnatic. 2. The only map BUG played was inferno, nobody can be sure they have any other strong map. It's like if NiP played 3 times on cache and won all three, while let's say your Immortals were forced to play against Gambit, fnatic and SK - what will you say then?..
