shox: "We didn't deserve to go to the playoffs"
We had a quick chat with Richard "shox" Papillon to find out what the atmosphere is like in G2 after their elimination in the group stage at the PGL Major and what their plans are for the next month.
G2 were eliminated from the PGL Major Krakow groups on day four, after they won two matches in narrow fashion and conceded three, to Gambit, Astralis and fnatic.

On the first playoffs day of the Major, G2 came by the press area, so we grabbed Richard "shox" Papillon for a quick interview, in which he discusses his team's issues in groups and their plans for the next month:
Talk me through the losses in groups, have you been able to talk things through and identify your mistakes?
I think first, honestly, when you look back at the entire tournament for us, we just didn't have the level to go through the group stage, you have to be honest. We won only against two teams, the two teams didn't pass the group stage, and we did a big comeback and one overtime.
Except that, we lost to three teams that went to the playoffs, but we really got wrecked by them. I can't really say anything map by map, or match by match, we were just not at the level and that's it. We didn't deserve to go to the playoffs.
Do you think that came down to your individual form, or do you think you just didn't have the cohesion as a team?
Of course we definitely aren't in our best shape individually, because of a lot of events going on these days and we're traveling a lot, we didn't have the time to practice as well as we would like, so of course.
But, in my opinion, even if we had the time to prepare more individually, it would not solve the real problem, which for me was definitely the team cohesion as you said. We definitely need to work on that.
You now have quite a long break ahead of you, what are your plans for the next month?
The first thing is that we already started to talk yesterday, because we want to start to fix things for when we come back in August. We don't want to come back in August and speak, we just want to come back, have everything clear, and we can start practicing directly.
We'll start practicing in the middle of August, so right now, the mood is more about speaking together to point out the problems and to find the solutions so that when we come back, everything is clear and we know what we have to work on.
