Gambit overcome Astralis; to Major final

A triple-kill from Dauren "⁠AdreN⁠" Kystaubayev as CT on Overpass, Astralis' map pick, marked the beginning of the series as the Kazakh team successfully retook the B site in the first pistol round. Gambit continued their run for a place in the grand final by winning the first gun round.

Down 4-0, the Danes seemed to be ready to pick up their first round, but Rustem "⁠mou⁠" Telepov did not let that happen with a 1v2 clutch. Another back and forth round succeeded, and once again Danylo "⁠Zeus⁠" Teslenko's men picked it up. Astralis then finally managed to get in the game, but it was not enough to stop Gambit, who jumped out to an 8-2 lead thanks to a quad-kill from mou.

It was only then that Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander's team were able to break their opponents' economy after reducing deficit to 4-8, but Gambit did not want to give Astralis any room for manoeuvre and lost just one more round until the end of the half.

In the second half, Astralis won the pistol round and the following round. However, the Kazakh squad's third-round buy bore fruits, forcing the Danes to go for a save. Gambit remained in the driving seat and eventually reached map point, and even though Astralis still tried to mount a comeback, Zeus's men would lock down the map with a trio of kills from AdreN.

Astralis kicked off Inferno as Terrorists and with the pistol round going in their favour. However, in the following anti-eco, they could not prevail against pistols, in large because of a triple-kill from mou with a CZ-75. Both teams then traded rounds once again, but it was Astralis who gained control of the game, with the scoreline blooming to a 7-2 advantage for them. 

A triple-kill from Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov helped his team grab their third round, but Gambit could not find a way to prevent Astralis from breaking through their defence for two more rounds. Still, the Kazakh team remained calm and collected, winning two more rounds before the end of the half to reduce the gap to 5-10.

Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov was pivotal for Gambit in the second pistol round as he clutched a 1v3 situation. After losing both eco rounds, Astralis were far too strong when it came to the gun rounds, winning six in a row to tie up the series at 1-1. 

On Train, Astralis were not able to close out the series

Gambit started the decider map, Train, on the right foot, winning the first three rounds on the CT side. Astralis then picked up the first gun round, but the Danes would not be able to follow it up as Gambit continuously denied them from entering the bombsites.

With Astralis down 8-1, Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen stepped up with a triple-kill to break Gambit's momentum. That was the start of a phenomenal run from the Danish team, who would reduce the gap to three rounds by the end of the half.

In the final pistol round of the series, mou picked up three frags to inspire his team to further increase their lead. Both anti-ecos went Gambit's way, but once Astralis bought up, the landscape of the game changed drastically, with the Danes closing the gap to 12-13.

And that is when everything changed. Zeus called a tactical pause, and, after that, Gambit caught Astralis off-guard every time with fast plays, winning three rounds in a row en route to a 16-12 finish.
