Astralis join ESL One New York list

Astralis are the latest team to have been invited to attend ESL One New York, the event's organisers have revealed.

The Danish giants are the fifth team confirmed for the North American event, joining the previously invited quartet of FaZe, Natus Vincere, SK and Virtus.pro.

Astralis, who are ranked second in the world, were recently in attendance at PGL Major Krakow. They raised eyebrows by defeating SK, the No.1 team in the world, in the quarter-finals before falling short against eventual champions Gambit in the last-four stage.

Astralis to attend ESL One New York

ESL One New York will run from September 14-17 at the Barclays Arena, in Brooklyn. Only one more invite to this eight-team tournament remains undetermined, with the final two spots being filled through qualifiers, held in Europe and North America.

Meanwhile, ESL has announced that the event will have $250,000 on offer - the same as last year's tournament, which saw Natus Vincere lift the trophy.

6 Teams get direct invites and then 2 teams have to make it through the qualifier, there is a European qualifier and a North American qualifier.

They have one slot left, then they are holding a NA and EU qualifier.

1 more and 2 can qual, one from EU, one from NA. Hope c9/liquid get an invite and the other qual. Last spot should be g2, they did win esl pro league s6.

lol dat logic xd FaZe had one bad tournament, before the major they had top4 finishes at every lan BIG fluked the groupstage with inferno and now they should be getting invites? and let's be real... Immortals had to beat Vega Squadron, FlipSid3, BIG and VP. They won't repeat it at any other big tournament, especially next major :) I mean they deserved that Grand Final spot because they were the best in their bracket but that bracket was a one time thing.
