BIG eliminate EnVyUs in Mykonos
BIG have secured their first victory at ESG Tour Mykonos 2017 after defeating EnVyUs 2-1 (8-16 on Inferno, 16-7 on Mirage and 16-6 on Train).
The second match of the day in Greece kicked off on Inferno, Envy' map pick. Despite losing the pistol round, the French men decided to force-buy in the second round. Thanks to a triple-kill from Alexandre "xms" Forté with a Desert Eagle, Envy restored parity, breaking their opponents' economy.
Down 4-1, BIG responded with two rounds in a row before their opponents won two more. Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz then stepped up with a quad-kill, allowing BIG to get a foothold in the game and reduce the deficit to 6-7. Still, with a crucial play from Cédric "RpK" Guipouy up in B, which included a quad-kill, Envy closed out the first half with a 9-6 score.
In the second pistol round, despite BIG taking control of the B site, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and xms managed to clutch a 2v3 situation, setting their team up for a 12-6 lead. A successful B execution in a semi-buy helped the German squad win two rounds, which would be their last as Envy went on to take the map, 16-8.

Mirage, BIG's map pick, started out with Fatih "gob b" Dayik's men securing the T-side pistol round. With a Desert Eagle triple-kill from xms, however, Envy got back into the game and eventually took a 3-1 lead. Still, the Germans were quick to respond, winning eight rounds in a row to take a commanding 9-3 lead.
With a quad-kill from RpK, EnVyUs finally brought BIG's streak to an end, but they only managed to get one more round before the end of the half as five rounds separated the two teams.
The second half began with BIG picking up the pistol round and following it up with subsequent anti-ecos. The French team still managed to win two more rounds, but their opponents went on to close out the map, 16-7, to take the series to Train.

Envy got off on the right foot on the decider map by winning the pistol round and the anti-ecos that followed. The next two rounds were chaotic, but BIG managed to come out on top on both occasions, giving them the control of the game to eventually take a 5-3 lead.
It was only then that Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer and co. were capable of winning a full gun round, but still they could not stamp their authority. The rest of the half proved to be a one-sided affair as BIG found themselves up 11-4 before switching sides.
After winning their fifth pistol round of the series, BIG got one step closer to eliminating their opponents from ESG Tour Mykonos. Envy still won two more rounds, but BIG regained control of the game, locking the series down with an impressive ace from tabseN.
