Heroic shock SK, advance to ELEAGUE quarter-finals
Heroic have pulled off a massive upset in ELEAGUE Premier's Group D decider, sending SK home following a 2-1 win (Overpass 8-16, Inferno 16-5, Mirage 16-8).
The deciding series of Group D at ELEAGUE began on SK's pick, Overpass, where the Brazilians got off to a great start on the back of Epitacio "TACO" de Melo's great play in the first pistol round. HEROIC were unable to find the right defense for the B attacks, which allowed their opponents to go up 6-1.
SK then switched things up with a play on A without success, and even their B explosions stopped working as they ran into a red-hot Andreas "MODDII" Fridh over and over. At that point, the scoreline was even at 6-6, when the B bombsite defense finally gave in and SK ended up switching to the CT side with an 8-7 lead.
Another important move from TACO saw him claim two crucial kills from the flank in the second pistol round, helping his squad swiftly seal the deal, with HEROIC only getting one round in the second half.

Inferno followed and it was HEROIC who picked up the pistol round that time, with Patrick "es3tag" Hansen and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen pulling all the weight in the B play. Marcelo "coldzera" David responded with a 1v2 clutch in the following forcebuy, however, and SK went up 3-1.
A close retake scenario on the A bombsite set off a flurry of rounds going in favor of the Danes, who continued to batter on the defense with well-rehearsed tactics for six in a row. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's quick double that allowed SK to win the next round did nothing to stop HEROIC, as Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer & co. grabbed three more before the half ended at 10-5.
With the second pistol round in the bag, Denmark's third-best team emerged victorious, as Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen's triple closed out map two at 16-5.
The map to decide it all was Mirage. Starting as Counter-Terrorists, HEROIC picked up a massive lead from the get-go, winning the first seven rounds without a response from SK.
The Brazilian side clinched a round amongst chaos, but the next three went the other way. A close-quarters fight in middle cost HEROIC the following anti-eco, and SK went on to grab two more rounds by the end of the half, much thanks to FalleN's 1v2 at the end.
A fast A split sent HEROIC to 14-4 despite two scary rounds up against low buys, but it took the Danes a while before they could close out the series. SK held on for four rounds, but then niko turned up with a mouth-watering triple in an eco round, which helped his squad complete the massive upset at 16-8, 2-1.
