ECS Season 4 set to commence

The fourth season of the Esports Championship Series will kick off on Friday.

ECS Season 4 will be held both in Europe and North America, with both divisions hosting ten teams. The first part of the season, kicking off tomorrow at 19:00 with the match between FaZe and HEROIC, will be online during which teams will play against all the other teams in their division twice in best-of-one matches.

The top four teams from each division will advance to the ECS Season 4 playoffs while the ninth and tenth placed squads will have to play promotion matches in order to participate in Season 5. The squads that finish 5-8th will automatically secure their spot in ECS Season 5.

SK were the victors in the ECS Season 3 Finals

HEROIC, who finished first in the Development League and beat Dignitas in one of the Season 4 promotion matches, will join ECS Season 4 Europe. Virtus.pro also won their promotion match, beating Space Soldiers and retaining their slot in Esports Championship Series.

In the North American division, all ten teams who participated in Season 3 will also take part in Season 4 after Luminosity and Ghost became victorious in promotion matches.
