rain gets ELEAGUE Premier MVP award

FaZe Clan's Håvard "rain" Nygaard is HLTV.org's Most Valuable Player (MVP) of ELEAGUE Premier 2017.

The Norwegian player was already leading the race prior to the final, and he cemented his claim by inspiring FaZe to beat Astralis 2-0 in the title decider with a team-leading Rating of 1.39 and a stunning 94.7 ADR.

With his strong performance in the final match, Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard overshadowed Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz, who was also a strong candidate leading up to the match and finished the event with an average 1.27 Rating.

rain wins his first MVP medal

rain had the second-highest rating of the tournament at 1.31, losing out only to Cédric "⁠RpK⁠" Guipouy (1.37). He also had the second-highest ADR (90.9) and finished tied with René "⁠cajunb⁠" Borg for the lead in clutches won with six.

This is the first MVP award in rain's career, even though he came within touching distance of claiming the honour at ESL One New York, where teammate Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač won the medal after a sensational performance in the final.

Absolutely worth it, grats on first of many. :]

Unless he has a dismal performance to close out the year, I think he'll likely be top 10 material, if not even higher. He didn't do well at the start of this year and was shakey in the older faze rosters. Also HLTV doesnt do their rankings by rating alone, so it is possible he squeaks into the top 5 Let me tell you what though, NiKo had better be #1

Its one thing to get a mvp, but to get it over three superstars. That is insane. Fully deserved. Around 3 years ago he started his journey with kinguin and after alot of time and players leaving and joining he is at the top.

rainMONSTA Totally deserved, I'm a fan of him since his early days in London Conspiracy, rain always had a unique playstyle, such a smart & clutch player. He was always a bit up & down, but now in this FaZe roster, he looks absolutely insane, holds his own vs. NiKo & Olof. I'm happy that he finally managed to get the MVP reward, was very close in NY but NiKo edged it out in the final there. If he keeps this form until the rest of the year, he will 100% be in the top 5.
