G2 to semis after sweeping North

The first map of the last match of the day kicked off between G2 and North on Mirage, with the French team stacking four players on A, but a triple by Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen of which two were entry frags gave his team the round. The pistol buy by G2 paid off, though, as the French side were able to take it after eliminating all of the Danish players and defusing the bomb. North tried to force their way onto A from mid and palace on the fifth round, but with a lack of equipment it fell apart to a defense by Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon and Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire. A double AWP setup by Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub and Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt on B stopped North once again, this time on the B site, as G2 started to run away on the scoreboard, 7-1.

With the wall up, and kennyS controlling mid with the AWP, an uninspired North was unable to get a single round in the half since the pistol, for a 14-1 partial at the half. Having won the second pistol round, G2 closed the map out with an incredible 16-1 on North’s map pick.

G2 gave up but five rounds in two maps against North

The first round on Nuke went the way of G2 as they were able to retake the upper site after an A rush by North. The first gun round, the third round, also went the way of the CTs, who were able to stop a play on upper to keep North at bay. The French team then followed it up against a five desert eagles, quickly establishing a solid economy.

Again, G2 quickly established their superiority, winning eight of the first ten rounds as North tried to find solutions. On the eleventh round it was a huge double in a 2vs3 spraying two headshots in mini to get the third round for his team after Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke cleared the A site for the bomb to go down. A triple by apEX in secret with a FAMAS got G2 back on track as the Danes’ economy shattered and North forced but were unable to put up a fight with weapon and equipment inferiority. Finally, the half went to G2 with 11 rounds to North’s four.

The second half kicked off with doubles by shox and kennyS that gave the French side the upper hand going into the attacking half of the second map. Down 4-14 North bought for the first time on the CT side, with m4s across the board, but were unable to stop a fast play by G2 on A. Finally the French side closed it out with a slow default against a couple saved weapons and a forcebuy by the rest of North after an execute on B, 16-4.
