FaZe beat fnatic; through to Pro League final
FaZe have punched their ticket to the grand final of the ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals after moving past fnatic on two maps.
The battle for a spot in the title decider began on Mirage, where fnatic came out with fire in their belly, winning the opening pistol round without losing a single man. After bagging both anti-ecos, the Swedes lost the first full gun round of the game, but then Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson restored a three-round lead for his team with a 1v2 clutch on the A site.
With their economy in shambles, FaZe went on a full save, and they got more than they had bargained for as they picked up the round. That round was the catalyst for a phenomenal run from the European mixture, which shut down any chances of fnatic stringing rounds together or building up their economy. In the final stages of the half, Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács stepped up to the plate, picking up back-to-back triple-kills to help FaZe to secure a commanding 9-6 lead.
Carrying their momentum into the second half, FaZe won the pistol round with an A execution, with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač getting three kills to his name. fnatic still tried to get back in the game, but the first time they managed to hold FaZe back came only seven rounds into the half, thanks to a successful double AWP setup.
It was a much-needed round for the Swedish team, but it did not change the status quo. FaZe rallied back in the following round thanks to two key frags from Finn "karrigan" Andersen on the A site, leaving fnatic without any money in the bank to prevent defeat.

After a long break over network issues, play was finally restored, with Lekr0 coming up huge in the first round on Overpass, picking up three kills to help fnatic overturn a 3v5 situation before Robin "flusha" Rönnquist won the decisive 1v1.
A third-round buy from FaZe paid off and sparked a massive run from the European mixture, which won six of the next seven rounds. The game was starting to look a one-way street, but fnatic tightened up their defence and recovered some ground with a double AWP setup, with the half ending in a surprisingly close 8-7 scoreline.
Håvard "rain" Nygaard raised eyebrows in the following pistol round with three quick kills on the Upper Park, helping FaZe to consolidate their lead. They were unable to follow that up, however, as fnatic swarmed into the A site with CZs in their hands and wreaked havoc.
That force-buy win kept fnatic's hopes alive, with an anti-eco ace from Maikil "Golden" Selim eventually putting the Swedes in the lead. But fnatic's resurgence would be short-lived: with rain in stunning form, FaZe kept their defence very tight and won seven rounds in a row to walk away with another convincing victory.
