Report: GODSENT owners look to sell organisation

The shareholders of GODSENT, among whom are Danish company RFRSH, are looking to sell their shares in the Swedish organization, according to a report from Flickshot.fr.

GODSENT was created at the start of 2016, when Markus "⁠pronax⁠" Wallsten and his teammates at the time—Simon "⁠twist⁠" Eliasson, Andreas "⁠znajder⁠" Lindberg, Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson and Mathias "⁠pauf⁠" Köhler—came together to create an organization that was in part owned by the players.

Things got complicated very quickly, though, as the team shuffled with fnatic in the middle of the year, swapping three players, and ended up trading even more players later on. Out of the five original players, only twist is still present today, but he also jumped ship to represented fnatic for a period of time.

One of the shareholders of GODSENT is RFRSH, who are also tied to Astralis and HEROIC. That makes the three teams fail WESA's multi-ownership rule, which was announced in March of 2017. The rule, which has an 18-month delay on execution, will not allow teams who have ties to other squads to participate in WESA-sanctioned competitions, such as the ESL Pro League, or the IEM and ESL One tournaments.

WESA's ruling could be a reason why RFRSH would want to sell off their shares of GODSENT, a team that hasn't been able to leave a big mark since its inception. Another reason could be tied to the deal GODSENT and RFRSH have in place, which is soon going to come to an end.

According to the report, all of the shareholders have decided to sell off their shares, allowing new buyers to come in and take complete control of the organization. The team's active roster, the coach, and the benched player Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman would also be a part of the deal for potential buyers.

GODSENT currently have the following players under contract:

Dennis has left GODSENT a while ago, but maybe you meant that his status is unknown until he joins his next team? I wonder what team that will be, I actually have no clue. If he wants to play in a Swedish team I'm hoping he can end up in NiP, but I'm thinking it will be an international team (mouse or similar). He has such a great reputation as one of the best teammates out there, and already played in an international squad, so he should be able to get into most teams. Hopefully something better than Mouse, but maybe they can get more consistent with him.
