We spoke to Dan "apEX" Madesclaire following G2's close victory against Flash to find out what made the Inferno match surprisingly close, as well as how the team prepared and what they've changed over the past month.

G2 entered the Main Qualifier with a surprisingly close encounter with Flash, who were leading 11-6 at one point on Inferno before the Frenchmen strung together 10 rounds to clinch their first victory in Atlanta.

Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire gave us an interview about the Chinese matchup towards the end of day one. He also discussed G2's preparation and explained what kinds of changes the team made throughout the last month.

About time, I swear it was dumb for him to just be an IGL, he was always the star player of his teams. Unreal to sacrifice so much when you are so good.

Feels like apex won't give a singlee bit of respect to Flash. Have to give some respect for Flash they played well.

they said they played against them like they would against faze. Pretty sure that is more than enough respect for a team that's never been to a major before.

G2 always had a slow start to any tournaments. But when the engine's revved up, thats when the wheel starts to spin ;)

What has that to do with my comment? i don't believe they got the rounds cuz ''g2 were playing bad'' lol .. wtf. i'm not hating on G2 but apex for not giving Flash gaming the respect/words they deserved. You have to take in mind they didn't prac for this + it's a chinese team i think they did good. :)

I agree that they played good CS for a team that don't have much time to prepare and I did enjoyed watching them play. I mean apex doesn't really need to openly admit that he respects them by giving them praises or anything. Did he by any chance said something about FlashG that would give that impression?
