EnVyUs edge out Flash; avoid elimination in Atlanta

After struggling on the first two days of the ELEAGUE 2018 Major Main Qualifier, Envy were off to a great start against Flash. On the Terrorist side of the map, the Frenchmen were quickly up 5-0, with Flash's second buy round and three-man B site setup being disolved by Cédric "⁠RpK⁠" Guipouy's entries.

The Chinese side finally got a round on the board when YuanZhang "⁠Attacker⁠" Sheng and YuLun "⁠Summer⁠" Cai combined for all five kills, but were reset in the folow-up and as Alexandre "⁠xms⁠" Forté clutched a 1v2 anti-eco, Envy started running away with the match.

Flash finally secured a clean round as Attacker mowed down the Frenchmen on their A site offensive, and his team secured a B site retake in the next one to give themselves a lifeline (10-3). 

Despite a great first half, EnVyUs struggled to close out the game

The French team still finished the half with a massive advantage, 12-3, with the in-game leader Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer topping the scoreboard with 19 kills. Playing on the Terrorist side now, Flash won the pistol round and went on to secure two perfect anti-ecos making the score 6-12.

Christophe "⁠SIXER⁠" Xia opened the first buy with a M4A1-S double, but the fast trade allowed Flash to wrap the A site and pick off RpK and Happy and extend their lead. The Chinese side got the deficit down to three rounds (12-9) when a mixed buy from Envy paid off and allowed them to get on the verge of closing the game out (14-9).

With three entry kills in the next round, Envy was looking to strike a killing blow, but Summer and Attacker clutched out the 2v5, with the latter picking up four frags. Flash continued putting on the pressure and QiFang "⁠Karsa⁠" Su, who was struggling to have an impact on the game, clutched a 1v2 to make it 13-14. 

With this result, Flash is eliminated from the tournament, while Envy will continue to fight tomorrow.
