G2 beat Cloud9 to join 1-0 pool

G2 have joined the 1-0 pool of teams in the ELEAGUE Major's New Legends Stage after defeating Cloud9 16-8 on Cache.

G2 got off to a flying start, winning 10 of the first 11 rounds of the game after giving Cloud9 very little room to operate. Cloud9's offence then finally came to life, with the North Americans keeping their hopes alive by winning the last four rounds of the half, which Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik finished with 20 kills.

Carrying their momentum into the second half, Cloud9 won the pistol round and the following anti-eco to reduce the deficit to 7-10, but a third-round buy from G2 earned the Frenchmen their first round of the half and wreaked havoc in the North American defence.

NBK was in stunning form against the North Americans

With Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt leading the charge, G2 went on a five-round winning streak that saw them hit match point. A last-gasp effort from Cloud9 still earned them a round, but G2 would deal the finishing blow in the next round.

Damn it's hard being a fan of C9. You think they finally have it together. They better get it together quick. And while they're at it think of replacing their tired old awper. And not with some other terrible NA AWPer since none of them are very good. Let Tarik or Stewie do it and bring in an IGL or another solid rifle. Just dissapointing. I mean you just let G2 the kings of underperformance trounce you. C9 were never in the game. Add to that last time these two matched up C9 2-0'd them. Jesus
