Major Round 2 match-ups determined

ELEAGUE has revealed the match-ups for the second round of the Boston Major's New Legends Stage.

In the 1-0 pool of teams, FaZe will get the chance to exact revenge on Vega Squadron after losing to the Russian team in the New Challengers Stage - the only defeat that Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's men have suffered in Atlanta so far.

FaZe get the Vega Squadron rematch karrigan wished to avoid

SK will take on in-form MOUZ, while G2 should fancy their chances against Liquid after beating another North American team, Cloud9, in the first round.

The 0-1 pool is headlined by the Danish derby between Astralis and North, two teams who got off to slow starts in Atlanta. Virtus.pro versus fnatic, two previous Major winners, will face each other desperate to avoid going 0-2 in the tournament.

Karrigan said he hates playing vega squadron and has lost to every scrim against them and lost in the group stage to them. I think Faze can win this major, but outside of SK and maybe G2 or Cloud9 if everything goes right for them but Vega Squadron will beat faze just because of the style they play and how much it makes karrigan and his team get triggered

Yeah i have been a pretty good fan of Swiss (definitely better than GSL to me which is quite predictable and boring, and we have had the most ridic group on a Major with SK/G2/Fnatic and FaZe once) but yeah unbalanced draws happen quite often unfortunately.

Well it is just sad that out of all the losers of today, the two teams that gave us the best impression end up playing eachother

Yeah and basically it couldn't be fixed by any seeding because seeds made from rankings or results of the previous Major 6 months ago, sometimes with different line ups, wouldn't be relevant anyway.

Well if we were to seed the 0-1 teams, C9 would be #1 or #2 and SS would be 7th or 8th so it could have been the same anyway

Yeah, that's why there isn't a good solution to these seeds issues (having seedings based on debatable rankings or worse results from a tourney 6 months before would be detrimental).
