Cloud9 send Virtus.pro packing in Atlanta

Cloud9 live to fight another day at ELEAGUE Major Boston after beating Virtus.pro 16-7 on Mirage.

The match began with Virtus.pro being annihilated in the pistol round without even making it out of B apartments. After losing both eco rounds as well, the Poles finally got a round on the board thanks a triple-kill from Wiktor "⁠TaZ⁠" Wojtas in a post-plant situation on B, but they could not take a breather as the North Americans rallied back immediately, resetting the Europeans' economy.

Cloud9 continued in the driving seat, with the scoreline blooming to a 10-1 advantage. Jarosław "⁠pashaBiceps⁠" Jarząbkowski then stepped up and grabbed some key picks with the AWP to put Virtus.pro back in the game, and Janusz "⁠Snax⁠" Pogorzelski followed that up with five frags over two rounds to bring the deficit to 10-5.

Cloud9 are now 1-2 in Atlanta

Virtus.pro were able to carry their newly-found momentum into the second half as they denied Cloud9's A split in the pistol round. However, the Poles could not build on that as they were caught off-guard by Cloud9's second-round force-buy.

That was the start of another dominant period from Cloud9, who took control of proceedings. A triple-kill from pashaBiceps on A still helped Virtus.pro to secure their second round of the half, but as the North Americans replied with a round of their own, the Poles were helpless to prevent defeat.

This was "disband" live pretty much. None of them is not even close to 1.0 rating, is it? A bit sad, but honestly they were lucky to get some decent result and then completely fall off for WAY too long period of time. It was fine, while it lasted, gl (whoever will left, but i would not be surprised if more of them).

A shame for VP, but they've only themselves to blame. They've been struggling for years now and maybe it's about time they finally do something about it. I love VP, so it annoys me that they choose to play a style that doesn't work anymore, a roster that has given up and doesn't play well together anymore, they generally do not enjoy playing CS from the looks of it; and they rely on luck, aim-duels and force to win their games. They need to take a break, fix the roster and change it up (TOAO, snatchie, rallen, etc...), get a new IGL an put NEO in a position where he is actually good at the game again, play more tactical and adapt to the new meta of smoke-strats/executions before bumbling blindly begrudgingly. Come on VP... You have fans who truly care about you and we've been trying to help with these issues for the last 2.5 years. It's getting silly now... :(
