KRIMZ shines as fnatic breeze past Gambit

Defending Major champions Gambit have been sent packing in Atlanta following a 16-2 thrashing at the hands of fnatic in the fifth round of the New Legends Stage.

The first match of the fifth Swiss round began with fnatic storming the A site, where Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson found three frags to give his team their first round on the board. After taking both anti-ecos with ease, the Swedes continued racking up rounds thanks to a series of multikills from Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson, forcing Gambit to call a timeout when they were down 0-7.

After the short break, the Kazakhstani team finally put their foot down and held fnatic off with back-to-back rounds, but the Swedes would quickly regain control of proceedings, closing out the half with a dominant 13-2 lead, with KRIMZ sitting at 23 frags.

KRIMZ led the charge for fnatic in a one-sided game

More misery was about to come Gambit's way as fnatic won the second half's pistol round with ease, leaving Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov's men in further disarray. The Kazakhstani side's subsequent force buys were all but ineffective as the Swedes locked down the map to book a playoff berth.

Realized that a while ago. But damn...that's a terrible statistic. But then again, Astralis fell off late in the year, VP was dead, BIG was falling off a cliff, Gambit wasn't the team they used to be, and 100T didn't even get the correct Visas ;\

Unlucky (or stupid) on 100T part; BIG are pretty much predictable because they lost the surprize factor; gambit, well, now no one can say they dont need zeus because he is the only one on the defending champ roster to make it to major; VP are already dead, what happen here are just confirmation that they need roster change, astralis and north need to make a danish superteam i think

Fnatic looked absolutely clueless against Na'Vi and if Gambit didn't fall into their trap over and over again (running the clock while slowly cutting rotations so the CTs eventually isolate themselves) they'd have stomped them like Na'Vi did. Gambit arguably has similar firepower than Fnatic but they were strategically even less prepared than them (as adren said in the interview before)
