EnVyUs target kioShiMa as xms is benched - Report

EnVyUs are set to bench Alexandre "xms" Forté, with FaZe's Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey lined up as a replacement, according to a report from Flickshot.fr.

The French giants are looking to strengthen their squad following a series of disappointing results, which culminated with an early exit from ELEAGUE Major Boston in the New Challengers Stage with just one victory from four matches.

Alexandre "⁠xms⁠" Forté has been on Envy' roster since February 2017, when he was recruited from LDLC. He played an important role in the team's title-winning campaign at DreamHack Open Atlanta but had an overall underwhelming year under Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer, averaging a 0.97 rating on LAN.

Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey is no stranger to EnVyUs, having represented the North American organisation between February 2015 and April 2016, winning several international events, including the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca Major.

kioShiMa could soon return to EnVyUs

He left EnVyUs to join FaZe in the aftermath of Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill's departure, but was benched last summer to make way for Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer.

In November, he played for EnVyUs as a stand-in at the WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals, helping the team to secure a top-eight finish, which puts them through to the main WESG event.

According to Flickshot.fr, the 23-year-old has been earmarked as a priority signing by Envy, but negotiations between the two organisations have not yet taken place.

It was either going to be SIXER or xms... I didn't think it would be xms, however. Overall I think SIXER is the weakest player in the team, but kio's arrival fits xms' role much better than that of SIXER, so he was given leeway in lieu of the fact that he is a weaker player. Hopefully EnVy stand a chance now. :) Two of the five players would be Major winners and kio can bring a lot to the team provided he's in 2014/2015 form. Sixer is one of the best team mates in the world and a chill/nice guy this team has a nice vibe I don't think they want to mess with that and also there isn't some lineup of players waiting to guy envyus, they take what they can get. It will be nice to have a support player as skilled as k1o is.

-SIXER +AmaNEk/devoduvek and if not +kioShiMa then +hAdji or JaCkz these guys are skilled as fuck. If Happy goes back to what he did in LDLC in 2014 they would not need a dedicated support player. They were all doing their part. SIXER is a really good support player but he's a decoy with the awp, that's why it doesn't work.
