Sprout have parted ways with Jesse "zehN" Linjala, the German organisation has announced.

Jesse "⁠zehN⁠" Linjala's future with Sprout had been in doubt after Niels Christian "⁠NaToSaphiX⁠" Sillassen replaced him in online tournaments in the aftermath of ELEAGUE Major, where the team were eliminated in the New Challengers Stage with a 1-3 record.

The Finnish player had been part of Kevin "⁠kRYSTAL⁠" Amend's team since March 2017, when the squad still represented PENTA. While with the German organisation, he helped the team to win the ESEA Season 24 Global Challenge and to qualify for PGL Major Krakow after placing second at the Europe Minor.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Sprout admitted that the results in Atlanta forced the organisation to make changes, adding that the Major was "a difficult time" for the team.

"Unfortunately, we were sent home earlier than we wanted," Sprout wrote. "Coming back to Germany, we needed to reflect upon our mistakes, we as a team needed to understand each other and the role every individual player occupied.

"After taking a short break we realised that there needed to be a change."

Sprout have not yet stated who will be taking the vacant spot on the roster. The German team currently sit at the top of ESEA MDL Europe, with a perfect 3-0 record.

With zehN's release, Sprout currently have:

Denis "⁠denis⁠" Howell
Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter

Usually the new guy performs very well at the beginning, like zehn and sunny did when they joined penta. And is it fair to compare nato's couple good games to zehn's whole career in penta/sprout? Drop aleksib or sergej, add an IGL... though frankly I don't know if there are any good IGL's in the Finnish scene these days. +lurppis & natu coaching, with lurppis being the actual coach and natu as just the chill older dude who travels with the team for the sake of keeping their spirits high. Would be nice to see. It's been a long while since we've had a Finnish team with any actual potential.
