seized joins Gambit; fitch on transfer list

After playing for the team in multiple competitions as a stand-in, Denis "seized" Kostin has officially joined Gambit, replacing Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov.

The 23-year-old was first seen representing Gambit in ESEA MDL, standing in for Bektiyar "⁠fitch⁠" Bahytov who was absent due to undisclosed reasons. After a good start in the league, Denis "⁠seized⁠" Kostin's stay in Gambit was extended, and he competed with them in the IEM Katowice 2018 Qualifier.

seized replaces fitch in Gambit's lineup

Now, following Gambit's qualification for the tournament in Poland, seized was added to the team as a full-time member, with fitch ending up as a backup player and on the transfer list.

The Russian player stated the following upon joining Gambit:

"I am incredibly happy that I have an opportunity to represent Gambit Esports. I got a second breath while playing in this team. I will do my best to achieve our goals and become the best team in the world. I would like to thank everyone who supports and cheers for us #AlgaGambit!"

The team's coach Andriy "⁠Andi⁠" Prokhorov revealed that fitch's removal came as a result of their ELEAGUE Major 2018 performance, where Gambit crashed out in groups:

"The decision to move Bektiyar to a substitute position was made after an unsuccessful performance at ELEAGUE Major. Nevertheless, I think it is fair to say that we have been slowly coming to a realisation that changes were required. We felt that we lacked certain in-game components, therefore a roster change became a necessity."

"We agreed upon that Denis was the best available option, since he is both younger and at the same more experienced. Moreover, he is motivated and ready to prove that the last chain of events in his career was a mere coincidence. It goes without saying that I know him well due to our time in Na`Vi, therefore I realize that I am responsible for the outcome of this roster change. Denis is a hard-working and talented player who has a lot of potential. I will do my best to make sure that he and an entire team as a whole will achieve noteworthy results."

You have a whole compliation of how bad he was against Na'Vi and they recruit him =) I like Gambit, but they'll never get back to major win level with seized. Zeus was shit also when he was in Na'Vi, but with Gambit he shined. I think it's more of team problems that make certain Na'Vi players underperform. For example Edward and Zeus nowadays are literally useless, even tho Zeus has done solid 1.03 at Krakow with good rounds and stuff. What does have Na'Vi in face of Zeus now? Shit strats, low frags and 0 comebacks. But i think as soon as these 2 join any other team, they can perform better like Zeus did at Krakow.
