Cloud9 advance to cs_summit 2 grand final by beating SK

Cloud9 secured a fairly comfortable win over SK, winning the upper-bracket final series 2-0 (Overpass 16-9, Inferno 16-9).

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo kicked off Overpass, SK's map pick, with a double Glock kill coming into B, which was converted into a pistol round win by his team easily. The Brazilians took a 3-0 T-side lead, but Cloud9 started bringing it back on the gun rounds, tieing it at 3-3 as Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip and Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham sandwiched SK on banana, securing three fast kills.

SK struggled to afford proper buys for a while, their first full buy was shut down by Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta who sniped down three in the short area (5-3). SK won their first buy round by getting picks all over the map, and added to it as Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo secured four kills on the B site all by himself.

The score was 6-6 before Cloud9 managed to get back into their groove, shutting down SK's slow Terrorist side to win the half 9-6. SK won the second pistol round as well, bringing the score to 9-8, but Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik opened up on Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga in the first buy round and Cloud9 started rolling on the Terrorist side.

At 14-8, tarik once again took down fer who was trying to pull off an aggressive move at the fountain area, added a kill on Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass as well, but FalleN brought the round back into their favor by killing two Cloud9 members in connector with some shotgun-style AWPing. Cloud9wase still able to clutch out that round in a 2v3, and close out the game shortly with a 16-9 scoreline.

Cloud9 got off to a great start as Terrorists on Inferno, going 4-0 up. However, SK managed to steal away a round with a nade stack combined with a mid and banana push.

The Brazilians brought it back to 4-3, but Cloud9's slow rounds proved hard to deal with for them, and with William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba being on point, they advanced their lead to 8-3. After that, SK shut down Cloud9's executes in back-to-back rounds, both on A and B (8-5).

The first half finished with American team having a 9-6 lead, and they extended it with a retake of B in the pistol round. RUSH barely bailed out Cloud9 in the following round, as SK got dangerously close to winning a full-eco, but his team recovered after and got to a 13-6 lead.

SK broke the A hold and then destroyed the three-man B control attempt from Cloud9, winning back-to-back rounds (13-7). Round were traded back and forth at that point, but tarik's quad-kill on the mid hold got Cloud9 to 15 rounds, and they closed it out immediately, making it 16-9 and 2-0 for the series.

Majors should do that, because It’s the most important tournament of them all. It means something to win Bo3’s in major grand finals. It doesn’t matter If they have more skill on the team, because If we refused to see beyond the one Bo3, majors mean nothing and we might as Well just end the game right here. No point in having them then. So no, It’s not. They still have a major with 4 players being really good, so that doesn’t matter either. It’s what they have achieved that matters, not what they are right now.
