Liquid stun SK; to cs_summit 2 grand final

Liquid have advanced to the grand final at cs_summit 2 after beating SK 2-0 (19-17 on Cobblestone and 16-11 on Train).

Liquid and SK faced off in a best-of-three series in the consolidation final at cs_summit 2 to decide which team would face Cloud9 in the grand final. The series kicked off on Cobblestone with the Brazilian squad on the T-side.

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo & company picked up the pistol round but ran out of time in the following two rounds as Liquid took the lead (2-1). Liquid made it 7-1 without breaking a sweat and extended their lead to 9-1 thanks to Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski's quad kill in a 3vs4 and triple kill in a 3vs3 in consecutive rounds. Liquid closed out the first half 13-2.

EliGE & co. got the win over SK

SK responded strongly when they switched over to the CT-side, winning the first five rounds in the second half to trail 7-13. Liquid were able to earn five match points but SK completed the comeback to take it to overtime. Liquid came alive in overtime to win the map 19-17.

Train was the second map and the T-sided Liquid won the pistol and anti-eco rounds (3-0). SK won the first weapon round and, later on, took the lead (5-4). Nick "⁠nitr0⁠" Cannella clutched a 1vs2 to tie the game once again and Liquid took charge on the offense to lead 9-6 at halftime.

nitr0 picked up two opening kills on the CT-side and the North Americans extended their lead to 12-6 after winning the anti-ecos. Liquid won a full eco when they were leading 14-11 as nitr0 got two kills after going down to one health points. They closed out the map 16-11 and won the series 2-0 to book their spot in the grand final.

Your assumption that the major was "luck" indicates that I would be wasting my time debating with you. However, with a major in Cloud9's pockets, and Liquid, already fielding the top2 individually skilled players in NA (Twistzz and Elige), and now picking up NAF (arguably the 3rd best NA player), Liquid's ceiling is undoubtedly growing higher. Cloud9 is a young team. I do not see them disanding any time soon. IF these teams continue to percolate, they have the capability to be top5 globally and in the running to win any tournament. THAT, is easily the golden age of NA CS, which has been one disappointment after another for 10+ years.

SK used this small tourney to try some new things and change a bit of theyr game style They are absolutely right with this decision and will profit fast on it! People must understand CS is always about metagame, Cloud9 just changed the meta buy beeing way agressive and skill based so every team must follow this to keep on top Fallen knows that is changing SK game to fit on the new meta, he is not afraid to loose a tourney to train new things to get his team back in the top1 stop
