G2 edge out Virtus.pro on Nuke; fnatic beat Heroic on Cobblestone

G2 took locals Virtus.pro, 16-12, on Nuke, while fnatic came out victor on Cobblestone against Heroic, 16-9.

G2 kicked off their Nuke match against locals Virtus.pro with a CT pistol win after retaking the B site and defusing the bomb. After winning the anti-eco, Virtus.pro won the first buy round in the third, but were unable to take the following as Kenny "kennyS" Schrub spoiled the Poles’ plans to take a 3-1 lead. Entries by Paweł "byali" Bieliński and Michał "MICHU" Müller then allowed their team to plant with two entries, keeping the early match close while resetting the French team. The Poles, lead by MICHU, quickly took the reins of the half, winning six rounds before G2 could reply. Finally, the Polish team went to the half with a 9-6 lead.

G2 were able to outlast VP in the late game to take the win on Nuke

Having won the second pistol round, G2 brought it back to a tie after winning both anti-ecos, but Virtus.pro were then able to keep the lead after winning the first gun round. G2 tried to play down towards the lower site in the following round, taking the site and winning the round to keep it tied. Against an eco, G2 were then able to take back the lead for the first time since early in the first half. Playing against a pistol buy, G2 were unable to increase their lead, and Virtus.pro, with a very strong Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, tied it back up at 11-11.

After a crucial double entry by Dan "apEX" Madesclaire that gave G2 the lead once again, the French team increased their lead to two rounds after winning an anti-eco, 13-11, slowly grinding towards the win, but Virtus.pro brought it back to within one in the following round with doubles by Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and MICHU, but G2 then got to within one of match point after a successful A strike. Finally, the French side took it, 16-12, for a first victory in Katowice.

The B stream match, played on Cobblestone and featuring fnatic against HEROIC, started with the latter taking the first pistol round on the defending side. After losing the first eco, fnatic were able to win a force buy on the third round to get on the board, and tied it up 2-2, in the following round. HEROIC didn’t let up, though, as a deagle triple by Jakob "JUGi" Hansen on the fifth kept his team in the lead. The match was a stalemate as teams went 3-3 and 4-4 before HEROIC were able to win two in a row to go 6-4, but it was then fnatic who did the same to bring it back to 6-6. Finally, fnatic, lead on the scoreboard by Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson and Robin "flusha" Rönnquist, were able to secure the half, 9-6.

fnatic start their Katowice run with a win

After winning the CT-side pistol round fnatic found their groove, putting up a wall against HEROIC. fnatic took a 13-6 lead as Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson won a double and defused to keep HEROIC in a precarious financial situation while his team kept racking up the rounds. Down 6-14, HEROIC were able to win a couple rounds, keeping the Swedes in check, although fnatic was finally able to close out the match without letting HEROIC get to double digits, 16-9.

how can you say that was easy for g2? That match was obviously close.. with advantage of luck for g2. I mean start of the first half was pretty unlucky for vp, with first pistol round or one of these round after pistol It would be much more closer and probably would end at 15-15 or something like this

Your comment would be ok if they won like 16-3 or so, but this match was kinda close so you can expect some player from the winning team to have negative kd ratio

Not that much negative tho. When one guy goes -8 it means the others should try harder to compensate for his underperforming. It's not very bad but it's pretty bad, especially taking into account that he has been struggling for a month or more already: hltv.org/matches/2319696/g2-vs-mousespor.. hltv.org/matches/2319673/g2-vs-astralis-.. (G2 won 2-1, bodyy -10) I know online matters less bla-bla-bla, but if you don't win online you will not go to LAN, you know: hltv.org/stats/players/matches/8374/body.. That guy should fix his shit ASAP, G2 will play without shox for a couple of months.

I never said that he wasn't struggling lately, I totally agree with it. Just said that it's not that rare to see a player going negative even if his team wins the match. And I never mentioned online either, dunno why you bring that up.

If you look at it, G2 was the one who almost threw an easy match, seeing how Nuke is also one of their best maps, especially their CT side with Kenny being a god(though the new update changed his aggro in the map). And VP is bad now how has G2 made this harder on themselves. Bodyy needs to step up, they need to make better strats, give more plays for better entries for apEX since he's been doing well as of late. HELP KENNY! also NBKrieg :^)
