FaZe and Cloud9 invited to DreamHack Masters Marseille

DreamHack have revealed two more invites for DreamHack Masters Marseille, as FaZe and Cloud9 will be joining the list.

The two finalists of the ELEAGUE 2018 Major, FaZe and Cloud9, have been confirmed as participants at the first premier CS:GO event to be held in France, DreamHack Masters Marseille. The tournament will feature a $250,000 prize pool, 16 teams, and will be held on April 18-22.

FaZe and Cloud9 have already played three BO3s this year

Following the Major, FaZe continued to pick up solid placings, but failed to grab a trophy at either StarSeries i-League Season 4 or IEM Katowice 2018, losing to Natus Vincere and fnatic, respectively. On the other side, Cloud9 have been on a downward trend, as their Major victory has been followed by a second place at cs_summit 2, a group stage exit in Kiev and a top six in Katowice.

Six teams for the upcoming DreamHack Masters event are now known:

Denmark Astralis Brazil SK
Europe MOUZ France G2
Europe FaZe United States Cloud9

Tickets for the events are now available for purchase, you can find them by going here.

Good thing, or Karrigan would be paying out the rear for his tears. Kidding of course. FaZe is a great team. Just having trouble closing games out. As an NA fan, I've seen this a lot. It gets better over time.

You can think they are the best, but I think that it's so competitive that it's hard to say who's best. I understand what you mean though.

true true, point taken. But if you look at their performance, they somehow (in the last few months) Have almost always made deep tournament runs. They deserve that #1 spot imo

Why don't they just invite the teams they plan to invite at once? The list should be fairly substantial given they invited Astralis, who did nothing to deserve that invite so early.

I wasn't expecting that much, but this shapes like a solid tier 1 event. I completely agree the list now needs fnatic/Liquid/Na'Vi and maybe NiP (6 invite slots still left) and this will end up being one of the most intense Dreamhacks ever...

Every 'Masters' event from DreamHack ends up being stacked and sick, so you better expect this to be one of the best tournaments of the year.

Man, I'm either blind or stupid, but I totally missed that this is a Masters event... That's a hard facepalm moment right there. I guess that explains why it's so stacked. But still, I think this will be much more entertaining event than previous Masters, considering how many teams from the invites are peaking right now. It's literally unpredictable who will win, even predict who will be top 4 would be hard to do.

Why does this article say C9 exited in groups at Katowice? Dat not true Also agree with the above comments. Get Liquid and Navi in particular in this tournament and it is absolutely stacked. Still not sold on Fnatic but throw them in to why not.

hopefully no group system. i wish al the teams could play against each otherduring group stage. wsiss system with a bo3 is the best.(or lower bracket with all the losing teams are able to play against each other) iem group a was western conference group b was eastern conference.

Both finalist came from group B. Swiss has too much random to it, always one crap team going through from lucky matchups and one good team going out from playing really hard matchups.
