Gambit clinch ECS Season 5 spot

Gambit defeated Natus Vincere 2-0 (16-6 Cobblestone, 16-12 Overpass) in the upper bracket final of the ECS Season 5 Europe Challenge Cup, earning a spot in ECS.

The first team to qualify for ECS Season 5 Europe from the Challenger Cup has been decided today, as Gambit took down Natus Vincere.

The match kicked off on Cobblestone, the Ukrainian team's map pick, where they weren't able to get the good CT start, but still ended with a respectable number of six rounds going into the Terrorist side. However, Gambit locked it down on the defensive side, with Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov, Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev and Rustem "mou" Telepov putting up strong performances to close the map quickly, 16-6.

Hobbit's squad finally secured a spot in a top-tier online league

Overpass followed, where Natus Vincere started off much better, grabbing a 7-4 lead as Terrorists despite losing the pistol. However, with Denis "seized" Kostin on the forefront, Gambit recovered and took the lead going into the second half, 8-7.

Despite an anti-force loss, Gambit were able to establish themselves on the Terrorist side early and contain Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev well enough to grab a 16-12 victory and a 2-0 for the series.

 Gambit K - D +/- ADR KAST Rating2.0

36 - 34 +2 83.5 70.0% 1.15
32 - 28 +4 60.6 72.0% 0.99

With this result, Gambit have, for the first time, qualified for one of the two top online leagues. The squad is currently playing their fourth consecutive ESEA MDL season in hopes of qualifying for ESL Pro League, and have failed in their last four attempts to make ECS, placing third the last two times.

The following teams now have a spot in ECS Season 5:

Its incredible how a single player can ruin an entire team...loo ok at NaVi... 2nd at Cluj (the last major win for EnVyUs) 2nd at ESL ESEA 2 (defeated LG, lost to unbeatable fnatic) 2nd at Starladder (lost to unbeatable fnatic), 3-4th at IEM (lost to LG) 2nd at MLG (lost to LG) 2nd at DH Malmo (lost to NiP) 3-4th at ELEAGUE (lost to just fnatic). After s1mple joined - failure after failure.

with s1mple they won their first major, right? also look at the score. Zeus at 21-43. Even if he was a stratcaller that is not up to standard. People have bad days and bad matches even on the top level, and we don't know shit what's going on in Navi. Only they know.

If simple would just keep his mouth shut and get along with people he would be on a top 5 team. I mean personally i believe he should be on a top 3 team and people should put up with his shit. His skill celling is well worth the bs. The dude is a fucking god on the aggressive awp and rifle. Sad to see such a talent wasting away right now. I like seeing him in navi but his surroundings are not paying off. If they can tighten up even by 20% they will be a contender. Honestly i think hed be better off with taz's new team.

But realistically where would you put him? TaZs is just a report right now and even if you would put him there I don't think that team has talents that compare with flamie and electronic. Personally I'd put World Edit in Navi instead of Edward and let s1mple rifle/second awp.

Lol -simple is a death sentence. Why would they want to to tier nothing? Hes their best player by far. If u think simple is the problem your brain dead. Their problem is aim plain and simple. If zeus would perform evem 15% better they would win a lot more games. Being an igl takes a toll. I hope zeus recovers honestly. Hes a blast to watch when hes on.

Ye that’s why 2015/2016 navi with seized, zeus, edward, guardian and flamie were consistent top 2-5 team. You are either new fag who started following pro scene in 2017 or s1mple’s fan girl.

Lol ur cute. The reason navi did better back then is it was just a better team all around. They were all peaking. That and their game plans were still fresh. Zeus is trying to still run those same executes while losing aim power and their aggressive attitude. Now its just simple on the aggressive plays.

Na'Vi players play bad not because they are shit (they aren't), but because they are allowed to play bad and still get salary. If 5 players from Na'Vi would be signed by another organisation, the would show better results right away.

Ye difference is gambit is not built as top tier team that should win tier 1 events on regular basis while navi got much bigger budget and their goal is become elite CIS team. Btw seized is in gambit few weeks while s1mple is in navi almost 2 years so your arguement is dumb just like you.
