Kvik: "We will do our best to get back on track"
We interviewed Aurimas "Kvik" Kvakšys after Quantum Bellator Fire's underwhelming performance at Copenhagen Games.
Quantum Bellator Fire had a tough weekend in Denmark as they lost all three of their group stage matches against North, Windigo, and Valiance, finishing 7-8th at Copenhagen Games 2018.

Dust2.us writer Michael "Duck" Moriarty caught up with Aurimas "Kvik" Kvakšys after the tournament to ask the Lithuanian player about their showing at the event, their expectations in the following months, and whether or not they are planning any roster changes in the future.
How has Copenhagen Games been for you in general?
It was disastrous, I guess. We failed at everything. People were talking that the Major run was a fluke for us, that we got lucky with the draws. Here, we wanted to prove that it was not a fluke and that we can really do something but it just didn't work out. Our preparation was terrible. We couldn't practice enough for this tournament because we couldn't have a bootcamp. For example, I had university exams so it was hard to have good practice before the event.
You have come here after your playoff run at the Major and after some not-so-great online results. You are also in the ESEA Main playoffs. How do you expect your performance to be like in the playoffs? What are you looking forward to in the playoffs?
Right now, we are planning to start really solid practice because nothing is working out for us. We will ask for a bootcamp prior to the playoffs, because we have to earn promotion to ESEA Premier. That's our main goal. We'll take Copenhagen Games as an experience. We have some problems and we have to fix them as soon as possible because the Major is our main goal right now. This tournament is just to help us get our confidence back.
The Major, which you say is your main goal, is in September. What will your team do between now and then?
We are going to practice as much as we can and we will go to as many LANs as possible. We will play in everything we can. We'll just try to bump our morale back up.
Quantum Bellator Fire's roster has been stable since before and after the Major. Do you see any changes coming or will you stick with the same five-man lineup?
I do hope we'll stick together until the Major and see how that works out. There were some terrible times for us. We actually had to convince players to play more. Some players felt like other players weren't putting in enough time in practices. There was some tension in the team but right now we are planning to stick together until at least the Major. If our results don't get better after that, we are probably going to have some changes. Everyone's goal is to be the best and we have to make changes if things don't work out.
Your organization has recently made some sponsorship deals. Does that enable the players to focus more on Counter-Strike with the new resources or is it more about exposure in the region?
To be honest, we were playing full time before that as well, so it doesn't really affect us. We just need to be confident in our organization to put together bootcamps. The only thing is, I am the only player studying at the moment so it's really hard for me to play full time and study. I'm the only one with time problems in the team because I also have to study. Everyone else is playing full time so they need to put in like ten hours day and treat it as a job, not a hobby.
How much time is there until you are done with university?
Three years but it depends really. It's already too hard for me and I'll do my best but if I have to choose between CS and school in the future, I'll probably choose CS. The opportunity for CS is here right now but I can always go back to university when I want.
Do you have anything to add or anything you want to say to the fans?
Keep supporting us, we need your help. All the hate we are getting after the Major success really hurts us. We have issues and we are trying to fix them. We really want to be in the Top 20 and we will increase our work-rate. We'll do our best to get back on track.
