Fragsters eliminate Gambit and Virtus.pro at Bets.net Masters

The Danish squad Fragsters eliminated both Gambit (2-0) and Virtus.pro (2-1) on the third day of the Bets.net Masters.

The Bets.net Masters LAN kicked off on Thursday, with a double-elimination bracket action right from the start. On the first day, we saw North surviving a scare against FORZE, but an upset happening at the end of the day, when Fragsters first beat Virtus.pro, 2-1.

stavn was the highest-rated player in the second Virtus.pro series

The young Danish side found themselves in the lower bracket on day three, after losing out to HellRaisers in the semi-final. Their first lower bracket matchup they had was Gambitwho have recently swapped their in-game leader.

That change didn't bear fruit, though, as Denis "seized" Kostin's squad ended up losing the first map, Overpass, despite having a 13-2 CT side lead - Fragsters only gave away one round on the defense and took Gambit's map pick 16-14. The Danes then struck a killing blow on Nuke, where a 10-5 Terrorist side set them up for a straightforward 16-11 finish.

Moving on in the lower bracket, Fragsters took on Virtus.pro once again, after the Poles eliminated Red Reserve and GODSENT in the lower bracket. Nicolai "torben" Amorim and Martin "stavn" Lund led the way for Fragsters on Inferno, which they won 16-9.

The action moved to Mirage, where Virtus.pro had a confident display. Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski stood out with 11 AWP kills, which opened up things for his team on the Terrorist side. Virtus.pro finished the half 10-5 up and quickly closed out the map 16-8 to force the decider, Train.

Filip "NEO" Kubski and co. were looking strong there, with a 7-1 Terrorist half start. However, Fragsters pulled it together and recovered the half, switching sides with a minimal, 8-7 deficit. The Danes lost yet another pistol in the series after switching to the T side, but bounced back with a force buy and took control of the game. Despite a valiant effort by pashaBiceps, Ismail "refrezh" Ali and co. were able to close out the map 16-13 and take the 2-1 for the series.

Pretty much every single year young players from Denmark step to the spotlight. Winning against Gambit and VP is not all that big a deal but Fragsters did play some nice CS. Players like Bubski or stavn might be knocking on the big doors by the end of the year.

fragsters are doing crazy rush every round, and vp feel hard to adapt to this style. It's not like a typical danish style, and i kinda feel hard to understand this. it's like tyloo winning over LG by rushing and it can work out one time but can't work out every time.
