Torqued through to ESL One Belo Horizonte over compLexity
Torqued are through to ESL One Belo Horizonte after defeating compLexity 3-0 (16-13 on Cache and 19-17 on Cobblestone) in the best-of-five grand final.
Earlier on Saturday, the upper bracket final between Torqued and Rogue saw Joshua "steel" Nissan and his men breeze through Overpass and Cache to secure the 2-0 sweep to the grand final, earning an automatic one-map advantage going into the final. Down in the lower bracket Rogue faced off against Complexity in the consolidation final, in which Alec "Slemmy" White and co. dominated on the decider Mirage 16-4 to get a shot at revenge on Torqued.
The grand final kicked off on Complexity’s map pick, Cache, where Torqued picked up the pistol and an anti-eco. Complexity claimed an eco round to reduce the deficit by one, but Torqued returned to pick up three in a row before their opponents could respond. Complexity then pressed on with five straight before steel and his men contested, with coL taking a narrow lead going into the break.

Torqued secured the second pistol and continued to pick up four more rounds, but Complexity came right back with five of their own to take the lead (13-12). However, Torqued came out on top of their buy round and re-took the lead, leaving Complexity with a shattered economy and unable to do anything for the rest of the game.
A smooth start on the T-side from Torqued on their map pick, Cobblestone, saw Complexity struggle to find a way to hold off the aggression, who faced an 11-4 deficit going into the second half. The sides switched and so did the momentum as Complexity came out in the second half red-hot on the T-side and secured ten of the first 12 rounds. Torqued then strung two together to hit match point, but last-minute heroics from Slemmy in a 1v1 sent the game to overtime.
The overtime rounds began with Torqued winning three straight. compLexity began the second half of overtime with two of their own before Braxton "swag" Pierce and Kenneth "koosta" Suen picked up a pair of doubles to send Torqued to ESL One Belo Horizonte.
