Astralis invited to ESL One Cologne

Astralis have been invited to ESL One Cologne, the organizers have announced.

The Danish squad are the sixth directly invited team for the $300,000 tournament, joining Cloud9, FaZe, G2, SK, and fnatic, who have so far been confirmed by ESL.

Last year, Astralis were invited to ESL One Cologne as well, although they decided to skip the event, as they wanted to have more time to prepare for PGL Major Krakow, which took place on the following week.

The news of the Danes' addition comes less than 24 hours after their triumph at DreamHack Masters Marseille, where they clinched their first trophy since June 2017 following a dominant showing throughout the tournament.

Six more invites are left to be announced by the organizers. The remaining four spots will be determined via qualifiers in Europe, North America, and Asia.

ESL One Cologne will take place from July 3-8, with the LANXESS Arena hosting the playoffs of the tournament. The team list now looks as follows:

nice last year when I payed 500 € for global tickets they skipped the event and this year when I can't attend because of work they are going there :-(((( would have loved to see them play live and do some meet and greet stuff but still, I'm sure ESL cologne will be great even stream only and I hope they can win this event as well
