OpTic set to land Snappi, JUGi

OpTic are set for a double roster swoop with the additions of Heroic duo Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen, HLTV.org.has learned.

The HEROIC players will replace North American duo Shahzeb "⁠ShahZaM⁠" Khan and Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz, who have been given their marching orders just two months after the team's creation.

Team coach Chet "⁠Chet⁠" Singh is also stepping down from the squad, ending a long association with OpTic that began in July 2017, when the North American organisation still housed current Cloud9 duo Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik and William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba.

JUGi and Snappi will complete OpTic's Danish roster

It is currently unclear when exactly the two new players will be linking up with the rest of the squad. Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen and Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer are still part of HEROIC's squad in the ESL Pro League, in which OpTic are also competing.

OpTic's roster after these changes will be:

Astralis will definitely have the best peek of the 2 since they're #1 and OpTic will never be at least for 2018. And as far as the ranking goes at the end of the year it's very unlikely that OpTic ends up in front of Astralis given the fact that Astralis is currently playing the best CS ever shown in 2018 so far and they're miles ahead of teams out of the top 3, they'd probably have to undergo an impossible slump in order to lose all their advantage and stay in deficit towards a team out of the top 20 now.

That's a great team, but what's the point of cajunb if they are getting JUGi? cajunb is an AWPer and as a rifler he's pretty average. It would be great if they got niko as well.

I've been around since 2009. What happened in 2016 was one thing, 2018 is another. cajunb is average as fuck these days. It's like saying let's get friberg back in NiP because he was good around 2014. I feel like they could improve on him, that's all.

you havent watched him in the new optic, he was playing really well, even in some videos on optic channel shaz and stan were surprised that cajun is such a beast with rifles :))) edit: they also said something like "cajun is an amazing player. He's a good rifler and a great pistol player. More than that he is very experienced and has proved to be really consistent and a great team player according to his teammates. He was also secondary caller on North. The biggest questionmark here is Gade.

cajunb its a really good riflers and he is package with k0nfig .he also can play support role.and secondary awper -gade + valde would been nuts tho

He brings some experience to the squad. A good mentor for the younger ones

Cajunb isn't an awper. He had to embrace the role when he was separated from Device in TSM and went to Dignitas, but they had no primary awper (as far as I remember). But he's a rifler/secondary awper by nature. And anyway, he was a great rifler back then, don't know if he still has it today but if he's anywhere close his level of a few years ago then for sure he's good.

I agree, although I might even give gade a chance and say replace Cajun with valde.

Cajun is more consistent than Gade. Gade will have some insane game then be a bit the next. Cajun never has insane games but rarely plays like a bot.

True that but I don't see them staying in the US for much long...

I can see them going to EU for boot camps and such, but I still believe that Optic's main goal as an org is to have the players in Texas. Unless they choose to throw away a several months grinding in ECS Development League and MDL, and even then its a major risk since they HAVE TO land a top 2 spots in those leagues.

That door has been open for a while, just that no EU team would be willing to set up shop in NA. And plus the NA leagues aren't even that bad, there's several respectable teams, just a lack of developing teams that can challenge the big names.

-Shazaam +Jugi Stanislaw is very good we dont need to replace him. Ik Snappi is good but Stan is one of the best IGL'S in NA. Snappi isnt the greatest IGL in eu. But if we end up with both i dont mind thats a top 10 team. But with stan thats top 5. The only reason i would replace stan as well is if k0nfig, cajunB and gade are homesick

Gade imo was probably the biggest underperformer on the team, not stan/shaz. This probably has more to do with them just wanting a pure EU lineup. These NA/EU hybrid lineups never work out.. too many issues with general communication.

Finally! k0nfig and Jugi together will be great Cajun hopefully will play as a good 3rd best peformer for the team Im hoping gade does well in this lineup because snappi isnt exactly the best fragger - hopefully he compensates with some decent igling if all goes well they SHOULD become the 2nd best danish team
