Windigo, ex-Splyce secure EPL spots; EnVyUs, Swole Patrol to MDL

Windigo and ex-Splyce have assured themselves of a spot in the next season of ESL Pro League, while EnVyUs and Swole Patrol will play in the 28th season of ESEA MDL.

The European consolidation final of the Pro League relegation kicked off on Windigo's map pick, Train, but it was Envy who got off to a flying start, constantly overwhelming the Bulgarians' strategies to bag a 12-3 lead by half-time. EnVyUs' run would not stop in the second half, and quickly finished things off, 16-4.

17-year-old SHiPZ led the way for Windigo with 58 kills

Envy' map pick, Cache, saw Windigo secure a narrow 8-7 half-time lead as CTs. Just like on Train, however, the team who had picked the map could not stop their opponents from closing it out, this time around with Kamen "bubble" Kostadinov and co. taking the series to a third map with a 16-11 victory.

Starting out as Terrorists on the decider map, Inferno, Windigo completely shut down the defence to go up 11-4 before switching sides. From that moment, there was little that the Frenchmen could do to halt Windigo, who went on to seal the deal with a 16-5 scoreline.

Meanwhile, ex-Splyce took on Swole Patrol in the North American consolidation final. With Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland leading the charge with a 1.60 rating, ex-Splyce, who were down 7-8 by half-time, closed out their map pick, Cache, with a near-flawless T-side, 16-10.

Rickeh played a key role for ex-Splyce, averaging a 1.38 rating

On Inferno, ex-Splyce started things off on the right foot, losing a single round of the first six. Swole Patrol managed to reduce the deficit to just one round by half-time, however, and then followed that up with a massive run to lead by four rounds. ex-Splyce would still be able to take the map to overtime, but Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and co. did not let their map pick slip away from them.

The decider, Train, saw ex-Splyce secure a comfortable 11-4 half-time lead as CTs. And even though Swole Patrol still proved that they did not want to throw in the towel after Rickeh clutched a 1v2 in the second pistol, eventually reaching the 10-round mark, the Australian put the last nail in the coffin following a successful 1v1 in the 26th round.

Fucking pathetic, feel sorry for ScreaM. Happy is a fucking hastr0 whisperer, his teams has been sucking for several years but he's still not kicked, instead he blamed it on their coach and lack of time, although almost 4 months and 65 maps were played with the same lineup, no improvements at all.

1) For how long should different lineups suck for people to understand Happy has no ide how to succeed anymore? 2) mixwell plays and NBK leads for 7 weeks and 42 maps, still many people blame everything on NBK and want shox to come back with his bullshit project. If 4 months and 65 maps is not enough - may be they should also shut the fuck up?

Yea they should. Happy was carrying when the team first came together. They still don’t have a t1 AWPer. Same problem with liquid who has 3 of the top 4 players NA but no real AWP presence.

You know nV play to win, not just to have a topfragging Happy? Who cares how many frags he gets when they have no teamwork, no good ideas, no nothing? Yes, Happy gets many frags, but rarely with any impact. Liquid has the same problem, I agree - they have no proper leadership, that's why they worked well at 1 or 2 tournaments and became shit right after. Both nitr0 and NAF can AWP pretty well, they proved themselves, but it does mean nothing since they're just a mix of 5 guys.

Nitro has proved himself as IGL, I don’t think it’s leadership issues. Yes nitro NAF and even twistz can all AWP but none of them are great at it. Nitro misses so many routine shots and NAF/twistz are inconsistent with it

> Nitro has proved himself as IGL Not really. They had a period when they played well, but not anymore, just like Cloud9 before they lost Stewie2K. A good IGL can make up something new, but a mediocre IGL usually struggles when it gets countered. And it's not like you must have a top sniper to defeat top teams, G2 with SmithZz managed to push SK to the limit in 2016, but in the end they failed, because a team that heavily relies on firepower (mouz, Liquid) can't constantly succeed. Moreover, it's not like jdm64 was a great AWPer.

Liquid are just inconsistent skillwise, they rely on firepower so much but they don't have that firepower currently. nitr0 carried like a motherfucker for some time, Twistzz was a solid player, NAF was good previously, ELiGE too, now they're nothing special.

I was really hyped when they picked up kioShiMa & hAdji, they both are way better than SIXER & xms... But they looked flat from day 1. Absolutely no progression and their teamplay is so off, even Happy is making noob mistakes (he flashed his teammates 3 times on the same map vs AGO). Also when you're the IGL it's unforgivable to not pass a gun to your heavy hitters when you're not hitting anything. hAdji & ScreaM should be the entry duo, they have such a good aim, I can't figure why they're not doing it. I've seen hAdji mostly lurking (aggressively, but still lurking). Also what was really good when they added xms back then, Happy was calling fast rounds, fakes, & slow default. Not it's almost always SLOW rounds. Jeez you have insane aimers, use it ?!! They are truly disappointing, but I think everyone is to blame, not just Happy even though as a leader he should be more vocal. I've seen a video about nV at DreamHack Marseille... And there was something really weird. maLeK was talking to Happy and he said that they both prepared some strats they are gonna tell to everyone when the match starts (overpass vs FaZe)... Wtf is that shit, I mean for obvious reasons it's gonna fail. And it failed, they got rammed on Overpass vs FaZe. Hoping this is a wake up call, because the team is really malfunctionning.

Pretty strange that nV under performs so massively. They have the firepower of a top 10 team but obviously something is missing. I have huge respect for Happy, one of few IGLs thats also really good individually and has proven himself before, but this isnt working and maybe the only way to bring something out of the talent in the lineup is a total IGL and playstyle change. Who in france could take over hos role atm?
