Immi to miss Pro League Finals due to visa issues

NRG coach Ian "Immi" Harding has announced that will not be able to attend the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals due to visa issues.

On Twitter, the 28-year-old explained that this comes after his visa request to live in the United States was denied.

In a recent interview with HLTV.org, Ian "⁠Immi⁠" Harding had indicated that he remained hopeful of securing a visa "in mid-May" to join up with the squad before the ESL event, which kicks off on Tuesday.

Immi will not stand behind the team in Dallas

This latest development will cast doubt on the British coach's future with NRG, despite the fact that the team have steadily improved under his tutelage. Immi also added fuel to speculation by leaving NRG's ESEA roster on Saturday.

The Pro League Finals would be Immi's second LAN event as NRG's coach, after IEM Sydney, where the North American team finished in 9th-12th place following close defeats to Astralis and G2.

NRG have been drawn in Group A for the Pro League Finals, with their first match pitting them against HEROIC, a last-minute replacement following HellRaisers' withdrawal.

Sadly I won't be attending EPL Dallas with @NRGgg due to Visa issues.

Weird eh. Although, the US & much of the Common Wealth have new treaties in place for sharing immigration & visa data. Without knowing immi, it's likely* something in the past (conviction, moral turpitude, drug violation etc.), health related (highly unlikely), or a misrepresentation in the application process.

From what I understood, I thought it was just canada/US that had a sharing policy for immigration data and could access backgrounds of people trying to come in. Are you sure UK is in there too? But yeah if it's true then I assume this fellow had something on his record they didn't like, or he just failed at filling out the application.
