Liquid to semis over mousesports

Liquid took the series in two maps, winning Mirage 22-20 and their own pick, Dust2, 16-4, to book a ticket to the semi-finals.

The quarter-final series started on Mirage, MOUZ’ pick, with the European winning the pistol round very convincingly on the attacking side. Having won the two anti-ecos, MOUZ then played a slow round, controlling mid, but were unable to close the round out as Liquid won the trade battles around connector to get on the board. The following round also went the way of the North American team, as they stopped a late B push from Chris "chrisJ" de Jong & co.

The European team then won three rounds in a row to take a 6-3 lead, but Liquid quickly countered by tightening up their defense to take the lead into the half, 9-6. The second pistol round also went the way of MOUZ, as Martin "STYKO" Styk was able to stick a defuse in smoke on A to bag the round. Having won the anti-ecos, MOUZ followed it up winning the first gun round on B, bringing it back to 9-9 and forcing Liquid to once again have to play with pistols.

The second gun round went better for the North American team, as they took the A site and planted before Keith "NAF" Markovic closed the round out with three kills. MOUZ then brought it back to 10-11, but a four-kill round by NAF with the CZ75 and an AK kept it tied up heading into the last stretch of the map. Liquid couldn’t capitalize the following round, though, as MOUZ won the follow-up making it a back-and-forth match. With NAF on fire burning Liquid won four rounds in a row to get on match point, but MOUZ played a heroic last few rounds to take it to overtime after chrisJ cleared the way in the last round with three AWP kills.

Liquid were quick to close out Dust2 after a hard fought Mirage

The first overtime started with both teams trading rounds, but Liquid then went on a streak to get on match point. That’s when chrisJ appeared once again, getting a bit quad-kill on A to keep his team in it. MOUZ then played once again towards the A site, managing to take it to a second overtime. Now on the CT side, Liquid managed to snatch the first round with a solid A defense. Once again the teams traded rounds although it was Liquid taking the lead in the half. The North American team then won it out, 22-20, as MOUZ were unable to defuse in time in the last round of the half.

The second map, Dust2, started with a huge round pistol round by Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken who put his team ahead with four kills on the attacking side. The North American team then relentlessly abused the B site, completely dominating the site and winning round after round. Down 1-8, chrisJ sniped down three to try and kickstart a comeback, but Liquid kept on unrelentless, winning the last round of the half with three kills by Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski for an 11-4 half.

After the switch, Liquid started slowly shutting the possibilities of MOUZ coming back, winning the pistol round, against a forcebuy, and an anti-eco before getting on match point after winning the first proper gun round. They then closed it out , 16-4, moving on to the semi-finals where they will face Natus Vincere.

They should probably get Kio or NBK after nV probably disband or leave and when shox team is done. Though Styko is a support player like TACO so its his job to bottom frag xd. Also, Ropz basically did as bad as him.

Well Mouz really shouldnt be losing games like this. Even Styko is support I feel like they should get some player with even over 1.0 rating past 3 months :Dd

IMO it was the fact that Ropz was nonexistant why they lost Mirage. even the hero plays from the likes of SunNy and ChrisJ weren't enough to win the map - frankly it was a miracle they made it to OT. Dust 2 was pretty abysmal across the board though, today is a tough day to be a Mouz fan... some things that a mere mortal such as myself knows that they really should know for themselves by now: 1) Their Anti-Eco's are losing them games, how can you lose so many rounds to forcebuys / pistols and not realize it needs work is beyond me 2) awp's should not lead pushes - i am looking at you, Oskar! 3) when another team has a player famous for making lurk plays, and he is still alive - keep an eye behind for the eventual push that is coming. 4) if you have a player who is having a bad / off game, don't leave them anchoring sites alone - not that this is usually the case but Ropz really let squad down today. Credit where credit is due, Liquid deserved the win today, Twistzz and NAF were fucking GOD tier. however Mouz's issues certainly played into their hands.

Of course they can. Navi has got two full time bots. In fact I'd favor Liquid at this point. Much more complete team. They just need to contain Simple.

No one can alone but it's a five man game and it's not death match. Liquid is a more complete team. That's very obvious.

Ffs guys cut mousesports some slack, everyone has some off days, it's just a game, one bad match doesn't mean they have to resort to kicking players. Liquid played really well and all players contributed. Stop betting on teams you don't fully trust instead of being salty because they lost.
