dupreeh: "The MVP is a personal achievement I've been wanting for a long time"

To close out our coverage of ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, we talked to the tournament's MVP by HLTV & Betway, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, about the award, the grand final, and Astralis' outlook in the Intel Grand Slam.

With a 3-1 win over Liquid in the grand final of the Dallas event, Astralis have added the second trophy to their cabinet in 2018 after clinching the title last month at DreamHack Masters Marseille.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen was awarded the Most Valuable Player following a fantastic performance throughout the tournament, so we had a chat with the 25-year-old about their second win within the last month and about the first MVP award of his career:

Last I checked niko and device aren’t a solid 0.12 above anyone else at the tournament, that’s why he won them

it's not about the rating but it's all in-game contribution counts. if u followed every Astralis matches on this event then u'll found out why he's voted as a mvp.

The MVP medal is not given out to people based on things you can't quantify. For all we know, some of the key calls made in rounds by Astralis could have been by another member at the time, much like Cold has calls a lot of crucial overtime rounds for SK in the past, but people would give Fallen all the credit for them, just assuming it was him. Being an IGL doesn't give you extra points towards MVP medals unfortunately, just as a support player doesn't. You wouldn't give Xyp9x the MVP because he supports his team mates/throws flashes and he played well. You give it to the most standout, most impactful individual player at the event.
