Gambit set sights on mir - Report

Gambit are close to finalising a deal for Vega Squadron star Nikolay "⁠mir⁠" Bityukov, according to a report from Flickshot.fr.

The 22-year-old will step into compatriot Denis "⁠seized⁠" Kostin's shoes, returning to action after being placed on the bench last month following internal problems.

The move comes just days after it was revealed that seized had relinquished his role as Gambit's in-game leader, with Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov taking over that mantle.

mir will replace seized on Gambit's roster

Widely regarded as one of the most talented players in the CIS region, mir has been on Vega Squadron's books since November 2016. In 2017, he averaged a 1.18 rating on LAN and helped his team to reach PGL Major Krakow and to win back-to-back China Top events.

Gambit will face HEROIC on Saturday morning in the lower bracket semi-final of the European closed qualifier for ESL One Cologne, but it is unclear whether mir will already be playing this match for the team. Next week, the Kazakhstani side will attend StarSeries i-League Season 5, where AVANGAR will be their first opponent.

With these reported changes, Gambit's starting roster will look as follows:

One tournament doesn’t prove anything. Not taking away from the incredible cs they played..though adren was at career peak that major and everything was clicking. Just with c9. Zeus played an integral part in that success, but not the main part.

mihail stolyarov is smart man he got rid of seized and took his job as IGL from him but he realized if he was the only russian on the team and they got another kazakh on the team eventually the borat would try to overthrow him to create an ultranationalist kazakhstani powerhouse team, like it already almost happened when fitch was on the team. so mihail made sure that seizeds replacement would be another russki to strengthen his position in the team. hail x god.

Its upgrade anyway, maybe one little detail will change whole picture. Seized was very predictable player who is really struggles to get multi-kills consistently with positional advantage. Mou looks like has stopped progressing as a player, maybe he should train more and watch other awpers demo. Be more aggressive, control the pace of the game and find the balance.
