freddieb: "We were playing really well on CT today, which we've been struggling a bit with"
To hear about GODSENT's dominant win over Renegades in their opener of StarSeries i-League S5, we sat down with Fredrik "freddieb" Buö.
GODSENT, who are coming to Kiev off a 3-4th place finish at DreamHack Open Tours, started off their StarSeries campaign with style. The Swedish team demolished Renegades, securing two 16-3 wins on Inferno and Overpass.

In the post-match interview, we asked freddieb about what stopped them from going further in France, keeping a spot in ECS and Swedish roster changes.
At DreamHack Tours, you went through the group stage fairly of convincingly, and then faced HellRaisers in the semi-finals. That wasn't a very convincing showing - tell me about that match, how was there such a big difference from the group stage to the playoffs?
It just felt like we played without the same confidence we had in the group stage and they were just, honestly, dominating us. They were hitting their shots, we were not, they just played better than us.
Is there something you worked on to get that confidence, to recapture the confidence you had in that group stage for future tournaments like this one, or for online matches?
I think we just need to practice because when we have confidence, we go very aggressive, when we don't have it, we don't have the confidence to go forward. I think we just need to practice and find the setups to do the same all the time.
Coming to this tournament, what was the goal for you guys, you are here as one of the bigger underdogs?
I guess reaching the playoffs is the most important, see how it goes, we don't feel any pressure really, we'll just play our game and see how far it takes us.
Statistically looking at it, in the first map the AWPing disparity, the contrast between twist and nifty, was huge. Is there anything special that happened in that regard on the first map?
We just felt that the game was going our way, we didn't have to really go into executes, we had a really good read on how they play. twist was feeling confident, he was just saying stuff like "I'm going up to kill him" and then went and prefired an opponent, that kind of stuff happens.
Moving to Overpass it was more or less the same, after being 6-1 up you could see brollan solo pushing something, it looked more like a FACEIT match than an official LAN match. Is that's the kind of style you thrive in, the style of CS you want to play?
Yeah, we were playing really well on CT today, which we've been struggling a bit with before. But as long as we have the confidence to go aggressive at the right times, it's going to be really good.
A few weeks backs you finished the ECS Season, you kept your spot. Is that a big thing for you, how did it feel?
That felt great. Of course, it would've been nice to go to the finals, but we were unfortunate and had a walkover loss to Virtus.pro. But it's really good to stay in there because you gain a lot of experience playing against good teams all the time.
fnatic changed a player again, it kind of feels like the Swedes could potentially start shuffling, maybe some other players will be changed. Do you feel like that could potentially impact your team, could someone be picked off in the future?
Yeah, of course, anyone could be picked up, but I don't see it happening at the moment. I could be wrong, I don't know. But I think us Swedes are struggling to find the NiP era or the fnatic era again. We are just trying different stuff to find the right combination.
