eUnited, Rogue, Dignitas & Swole Patrol through to Americas Minor

Four teams have secured the final spots at the Americas Minor in London, with eUnited, Rogue, Dignitas, and Swole Patrol earning their way through the North America closed qualifier.

After NRG and Complexity were the first two teams confirmed through the closed qualifier of the Americas Minor, eUnited followed suit by stomping Armada in a series sweep before claiming their 3-1 record after a shutout loss against Rogue, then, securing a pair of 2-0 wins over The Entourage and Freedom 35, respectively.

Spencer "Hiko" Martin and his men in Rogue kicked off their run securing victories over The Entourage and eUnited without dropping a map, before falling to NRG in a three-map series in Round 3 of the Swiss system. They then faced off against Ghost, where they dominated 16-5 on Overpass before Hiko’s team-leading 117.5 ADR and 1.74 rating on Nuke sealed the 16-5 victory and a spot at the Minor in London.

ptr shined on Dust2 with a 1.90 rating to place dignitas at the Americas Minor in London

Dignitas' journey kicked off with a sweep over TeamOne, but Complexity quickly deflated their momentum with a 2-0 victory in return. Dignitas then struck back in a three-map series to edge Swole Patrol 2-1, before Peter "ptr" Gurney and co. stumped Luminosity with a convincing 16-2 win on Dust2 to secure the 2-0 series victory and claiming the fifth spot.

The format makes no sense... they faced different opponents, in different conditions, there should be a tiebreaker between the 3 teams, not a round difference decider... even because when you're playing CS it's not like soccer where you have the same conditions during the entire game and tries to score goals during all the game... when you're playing CS you don't care about round difference, you just want to win, and every team has some maps that they don't play that well and their opponents are good on those maps.. broo, no sense

shitty format, luminosity and team one should've played a tiebreaker with swole patrol, both teams scored 3-2 and decide it with round difference is a joke

Remember what teams we had last year's minor? coL & NRG were in it, but were definitely not the favorites, as there were Misfits, Liquid, CLG, Rise Nation, Luminosity as well.

What i wanted to mention is that Swole won 8 maps and lost 5 (lost 1-2 in the 2 games they lost) whereas Luminosity only 6 maps and lost 5 (lost twice 0-2, sure they played NRG but that's the random aspect of Swiss system) TeamOne won 6 maps and lost 6 (both losses were 0-2 against Dignitas and Freedom 35). Swole much more consistent my friend.

Can't believe faceit would actually use retarded tiebreaker system deciding things instead of teams actually playing for last spot, very sad to see. Obviously as 2 teams made it through from south america qualifier swiss system last rounds were always going to be different but there was still way to make teams play each other rather than make it about thing like this that really don't tell who is the best...

Good job FaceIt. Another horrible organization. Its bad system for such a prestigious tournament. Yo cant use these criteria when playing with completely different opponents. Please Esea or ESL do the next major!
